For sale is a very restorable, mostly complete, Irish Green (original color) 1968 Porsche 911 Targa. The car was the 12th Porsche Targa built in model-year 1968. Intending to restore it myself I purchased the car this Winter from the man who did the machine shop work on my '68 912. The 2.0 liter motor (#3280156) is correct for the year and I believe it is the original. The transmission is 5-speed and the body is the last of the short wheelbase Porsches. The car was last registered in 1999 and when the motor was last started 4 years ago it and ran well and strong (it has not been started since). This Porsche Targa has desirable factory front (adjustable) and rear anti-sway bars installed. The rear torsion bar tube is in good condition as are the structural aspects of the car. The fenders and quarter panels appear to be quite usable. The floor pans and rockers will need replacement but the unit-body appears to be in good, solid condition. All brakes, suspension pieces and other major items are intact and installed on the car. I have correct, restorable, front and rear bumpers that are included with the sale. Also included is the fourth cookie-cutter wheel, door interior, and seat missing in the car photos. Original Porsche 911 factory workshop manuals available at additional cost (English version).
