1972 MG MIDGET CONVERTIBLE - READY FOR SUMMER! click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 I am selling my 1972 MG Midget which is one of the most desirable years thanks to the rear rounded aches, chrome and spoke wheels. The car rides and drives good as it sits, ready for summer. The entire upper assembly of the engine has been rebuilt along with the transmission. I do not know the exact mileage but the title I have reads 135k. The engine pulls through all gears without a hitch and the engine revs without hesitation. The car is 100% street legal and everything electrical works in the car, the only problem is the water temperature gauge does not read. The car is ready to driven anywhere as it sits and I would not for one second hesitate driving it cross country. I have a clean title in hand ready to be signed over I have for the car. Since I have owned it the following has been performed: * Brand new set of Perelli tires * Speedometer repaired * Oil Change * New front brake pads and rear brake shoes * Interior trim cleaned and re-finished * AM/FM CD Player W/ Speaker installed * New fuse block and electrical wiring (all lights and accessories work) * Engine tune-up with carb adjustment * New gas tank sending unit * New fuel pump The BAD: The car has been sitting through the winter months garaged and I can not get it to go into gear. The engine starts and run fine but when I attempt to put it into gear it grinds. I have narrowed it down to a either a stuck clutch plate, master or slave cylinder. The car will need to be towed / trailed to its destination.
