Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 I have owned this vehicle for more than 10 years. If I do not sell it with this one time listing I will keep it for another 10 years. I purchased it in Valley Stream New York. It was purchased new in Rosedale Queens New York. I had all of the rot and rust taken from the rear wheel wells as well as the trunk floor and had fresh metal welded in. There has been no rot or rust since. The trunk floor was coated with POR -- 15. A new rug was put in the vehicle as well as having the seats recovered. The headliner is original and in place but sagging at a seam where the threading came apart. Paint was done in classic red Deltron DBU with a clear coat. The vehicle was stripped out for paint, all door jams done. The vehicle is continuously garaged. The paint is the same as the day it was done with the exception of a few chips that touch up paint covers on the drivers side. The doors have gold leaf lettering done by a sign shop that are actually decals. The lettering states, “FIRE MARSHAL-1ST DIVISION". A federal beacon ray 4-beam light is on the roof and works fine, colors red and white and amber. A Maltese cross in the grill flashes red. A federal model 66 mechanical siren is in the grill and works well. There is a red and white spotlight at the driver’s side door pose that flashes red. There are alternating flashing amber lights in the rear deck. A low band Motorola radio with telephone handset and four channels is installed and working in the vehicle. Any buyer unauthoprized to speak upon those channels- I will have the transmit crystals of the radio removed prior to me delivering the vehicle. The tires are in good repair and black wall to the exterior. The wheels were painted red at the same time as the vehicle. All four hubcaps are in place. There is a rebuild six-cylinder slant six engine with two barrel carburetor that was done in 2002. There are no engine leaks. The power steering pump seals weep fluid. I fill the reservoir once a year. A rebuild of the pump will cure this. This car starts right up and runs fine and is peppy and uses little gas. All window glass is in place and the windows roll down fine. There is a star in the windshield towards the passenger side. It has been there since I purchased the vehicle. The vehicle looks impressive however with all old vehicles if you are a stickler you're going to pick out something wrong. Bumper chrome shines and could be redone for that brand-new look. The paint material and paint job alone cost me $3600 over 10 years ago. Give the vehicle a good home and use it in parades and or department events.
