Vehicle Detail

1989 Ford Mustang Convertible 5.0 Automatic **** NOTE ***** Some of you may have seen this auction last week. Someone in the UK hit the Buy-It-Now and had no intention of paying for the car. They were playing a shell game of sorts, wanting me to send personal information and then they would send someone to pick up the car. As you can imagine, there was no way that was going to happen. Please and I really mean please... If you bid, bid to win and if you win, please intend on paying. That's all. Other than that, have fun and live like there's no tomorrow. ***** O.K., here we go....Although the car has approx. 148,000, the engine was recently rebuilt and runs very, very well. I would like to keep the car, but I am out of room and sadly, it must go. Overall, the car does need a few things and if I am going to maintain my 100% good feedback rating, I don't want you showing up expecting a show car and then seeing this Mustang that will need a few things to make it look really good. The 90's style wheels are really sharp and the tires should last you for a while. It has a full tank of gas and is ready to go. Here is what I know - The car, engine, transmission, brakes, lights, gauges, steering, etc. all work great and do not have any issues. When I bought the car, there was an extra convertible motor in the trunk, but the motor that is on the car now seems to work fine. The top will need to be replaced or repaired as you can see from the pictures. Also, the two arms (both sides of car) that are used to support the convertible roof will also need to be replaced. I (by myself) have been able to put the top down and put it back up using a little manual labor along with the motor, but if you are going to keep the car, I would suggest replacing the two arms. I did see an auction on ebay for an entire convertible top assembly for $300.00 There is some rust on the car and hopefully I was able to show it on the pictures. There is one hole on the rear quarter panel and some rust on the edge of the trunk lid and some surface rust on the doors. To be honest, it wouldn't take much to fix a few of the spots, throw on a new paint job and enjoy the car. I just don't have the time or the space to do it myself. I took a short youtube video of the car (driving) so you can see it runs, shifts, etc. just fine. Nothing fancy, but you get the point. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6CxpVoSaHg I am also including two sets of door pins for both doors (drivers door pin needs to be replaced) as you may know that these heavy Mustang doors tend to sag over time. Looking online, this is a 1-2 hour fix if your handy. Also included are two brand new shocks for the rear and two new struts for the front. I also bought a new door handle for the passenger door. It opens now, but I wasn't happy with the current handle so I bought a brand new one. It may sound like this Mustang needs a lot, but it really doesn't. As you can see from the Buy-it-Now price, I have priced this car to sell fast. The interior is a really cool custom red and white theme. Check out the pictures as they really showcase how it looks. Overall, the interior is very clean, with no tears, stains, etc. on the upholstery. The car is located at my home in Plainfield, IL, which is approx. 45 minutes South of Chicago, near I-55 and Joliet. If you want to inspect it before you bid, please get in touch. You can contact me through ebay or call me at 815-254-1309 (Brian) I am not interested in shipping the car nor am I interested in any trades of any kind, so please do not ask. If you bid, bid to win and if you win, please intend on paying. Winning bidder must make a $200.00 deposit with Paypal within 24 hours and then pay the rest within 7 days. If you decide to use Paypal for the balance, then I will be adding the additional 3% fee that Paypal will charge me for the transaction. It will cost you far less to bring cash. I have a clear title in hand and will turn it over to you as soon as the car is paid for in full. As you can imagine, the car is being sold as-is with no warranty. Own a piece of history and as I am sure you already know, these cars are getting very expensive and at the Buy-It-Now price that this one has, it will go quickly. No shipping - Buyer must pick up.
