Vehicle Detail
1960 Willys Jeep CJ3B Flat Fender High Hood This Jeep has always been an Arizona Jeep. It was originally purchased by the State of Arizona for the Department of Salt River Project/Power-Water. It was owned by an ex-employee and kept in Northern Arizona for decades on some property and sold three years ago to the guy I bought it from in February. There again, he used it on his property (or few acres). See photo of Jeep when purchased (yellow). I did a restoration without taking the body off. Body was sandblasted and the frame (everything that could be reached). There was a very minimal amount of rust. I sold the Koeing hard top as no one uses them in Arizona and they take up too much room in the garage sitting around! Here's a list of what has been done to this Jeep: * Jeep speedometer shows just under 19,000 miles and I believe this to be the original speedometer to the jeep and it works. According to the previous owner, who purchased it from the State, it had very low miles when sold and there again, he just drove it around his farm. * We did a complete factory new wiring harness with new generator, starter, battery, and voltage regulator. * Had the radiator core pressure tested. * Had upgraded the complete braking system to 11" brakes, this included new master cylinder and 4 new complete brake assemblies, drums, wheel cylinders, shoes, backing plates, and lines. * Has 5 new 600-16 Firestones. It had the original tires on the Jeep when purchased. In reflection, I should have saved the spare as I don't believe it was ever off the mount. * Has new tie rods/rebuilt steering arm/steering wheel. * This Jeep was equipped with a factory heater. I dis-assembled the heater and had the core checked and replaced the motor fan. It does work, but I bypassed it not needing it here in Arizona. It could be easily connected with hoses for a colder climate. Motor runs good and quiet and really didn't do anything except change all fluids and detail with new hoses, thermostat, etc. Shifts good and 4-wheel drive works. This Jeep has no top. But, it has a new complete set of original top bows, so you could run a bikini top if you wish. Here in Arizona, you just drive Jeeps in the open. If you look at the windshield, I had original style brackets made for the cross bows to mount on the windshield frame. I've never seen another set of these, but came across a good clear photo to give my sheet metal guy, who made a set. Has a new set of vacuum NOS wiper motors. And besides the obvious, new paint - which is a 2001 Ford High Performance Orange - New Interior Seats. This is not a show Jeep. However, it does have a lot of "eyeball" and on a scale of 1-10, I'd say it is definitely an "8" This Jeep does have a CB Radio installed, not hooked up. Hence, I haven't figured out where to put the antenna. As you know, these Jeeps are always a work in progress. There's a few quirks that I'm working out this week - gas gage seems to be intermittent so am replacing the sending unit - minor oil drips - but nothing of any significance. I'm sure I've left out numerous somethings that I've done, so if you have any questions, just ask me. The reserve on this Jeep is $8500 so if you bid - bid to buy. $500 deposit within 24-hours of sale via Paypal. Balance within 3 days of sale and can be paid at pickup or arrangements made for money transfer. If you need transport, I have a good reliable reasonable transport that I have used numerous times and referred to many people (who have also had great experiences with this guy). On May-27-10 at 17:39:38 PDT, seller added the following information: seller is lowering the reserve to 7950.00.. good luck
