Vehicle Detail

Fresh from the barn is my '72 Opel GT I've had since 1983. Other than running it a couple times a year on the dirt roads behind me and the occasional fluid change,it's sat there since 1997 when I got a Miata. Not your average GT,the list goes like this: Completely rebuilt 1969 engine,(Yes,I've got the paperwork.) with less than 10,000 miles that sports a Weber 32/36 down draft, mild cam,9 1/2 to 1 compression, light flywheel, new clutch,Hooker header and Ansa exhaust. The body has got some rot which I tried to show as best as possible, not nearly as bad as I've seen on others, but it's there. The headlights still flip, but the switch died years ago and is now wired to the parking lights. The suspension is 1 1/2 inches lower with aftermarket springs and Koni shocks. I noticed the windsheild wipers weren't working when I cleaned it up,I think everything just needs to be lubed, since it hasn't been out in the rain in years. The interior has new carpets, spare tire deck cover, shift boot and a dash that has never cracked or been repaired, the only one I've ever seen. (And I've seen a few...) The Clarion AM/FM cassette still works. I relocated the battery over the rear drive wheel, not because the box rotted but because it was more useful there than hanging out in front of the radiator. I've got two milk crates of small parts I'm including along with a spare trans, cylinder head, roll bars, brake assemblies fiberglass air dam, repair manuals, original sales literature and owners manual. Whew,I think that's it! Feel free to ask question and good luck bidding! On May-21-10 at 09:36:13 PDT, seller added the following information:Folks,I'm getting under this today to check out a noise I get for a short time after I let the clutch out and to check gear oils and maybe do an oil change if I have the time.On May-22-10 at 10:15:54 PDT, seller added the following information:Okay,I crawled around underneath this yesterday and found the transmission was down about a cup of gear oil and that's where the sound was coming from. 'Not a grind, but a slight hum that didn't go away when I added fluid. I do have a spare trans, but I don't want to swap it out at this point. ('Can't anyway after recent shoulder surgery.) Fluid level in the rear end was okay, but ought to be changed.
