1963 VW Beetle with only 49,000 Miles This wonderful example of a nearly original masterpiece has a history of Nevada and California life, until my bringing it to the Chicago area. While here in Chicago it has, of course, been babied in the garage and never seen any winter conditions. So, it is truly a solid Southwest car!! I’ve seen a lot of VW’s for sale— from low dollar questionable ones to expensive "museum quality" cars. Well this one is just really, nicely in the middle. In my opinion, it is a good solid $ 10,000 car with a reserve of a lot less. NADA Guides places an "average" retail price of $ 7,425.00 and this is WAY BETTER THAN AVERAGE!! Yet the reserve is lower- Need $, I am buying an airplane. To my knowledge, the only non-original aspects to the car are the following: New Paint (of original color), a 12-volt electrical system ( a great plus) and a "standard" sort of air filter, in lieu of the oil bath, original type. New carpeting and, I have to imagine, that the seats were re-done, at some point. They look great!!! The best color combination possible and there is no other car in the world (especially taking into account the cost) that brings more smiles from 2 year olds to 90 year olds!!!!!
