Vehicle Detail

Your only bidding on the bar/part listed and NOT the actual car What your bidding on here, is a rare strecher/gurney lockdown bar from a 1961 Cadillac Hearse/ambulance combo, by Superior. All in working order, could use a slight buffing, brushed aluminum, should clean up well. Springs, handle, lock tab all work well. Also I'll include the measurements, on the location of where it was mounted in mine, for an era perfect fit. Mounting screws not included, just 2 large sheet metal/wood screws, that ended up beind damged in removal. Removing 50+ year old screws isn't always pretty. Now onto what I know about this, any of you Hearse pro's please chime in and help me fill in the blanks, as I'm no expert. This bar came from the Washington Mortuary Supply Company, Washington C.Ht. Ohio. Again from what I know, was this supply co ran out of Cleveland Hts Ohio for years, made and machined their own products, started many patents, Top of the line Mortuary/Emergency supplier, until about 1961, when the company was sold to Ferno Mortuary which still operates to this day. Being this came out of a 61 Combo, and the company closed down in 61, I'm assuming this was one of the last ones made. Again, please chime in with any info, as I'd love to learn more. Also, I have many 61 Hearse parts for sale. I purchased this as a parts car, to restore another. These parts are hard to find, and I don't want to see it all go to a scrap yard. Anything you may need for 60 to 62 Hearse by Superior, I may have it and would part with it. Just and me know, and I can get it listed for you, or work another deal. Buyer to be charged actual shipping on any parts.....BUT,,,On this part, to keep things simple, I'm gonna charge 18.75 shipping for the lower 48. It's light, but long, this should cover shipping to the West coast. I'm not here to get rich off my shipping, I'm always fair on that. Any big difference, after the 18.75, we can work that out, though I doubt we'll need to. I'm here to sell parts, not make the Cardboard companies and the Post Office richer. If your local we can arrange a pickup, Thanks. Also may have a line on a retired gentlemen who'd trailer the carcass, frame, and beautiful firewall to you any where in the lower 48 for a low fee This was mearly a 50 year old parts car, no title came with it just a bill of sale
