Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1936 Chevy 1/2 Ton Pickup Truck. Everything appears to be original and never restored. On the outside, it looks like there is one layer of paint over the original. The interior looks to be original and never repainted. There are a few dents and rust spots here and there but looks to be solid overall. It is registered and insured. I take it for a spin around town and everyone turns their heads. There was about $15,000 worth of mechanical work done to it in late 2006. The work was done by a local garage that specializes in antique vehicles. I have all of the receipts and can email them to you. A brief summary of the work is as follows. Engine removed, completely disassembled, all needed components replaced, reassembled and reinstalled. Rebuild clutch, starter ring gear and seals as required. Master cylinder, brake lines and wheel cylinders rebuilt/replaced as required. Add inline power brake booster. Replace batteryvarious wiring as required Rebuild carburetor and fuel pump. Replace fuel tank and gauge sending unit. Lots and lots of other misc. mechanical items The known mechanical issues are an exhaust leak between the manifold and exhaust pipe so it probably needs a donut or other gasket. The engine runs warmer than it should and I think that the radiator needs to be boiled out. The water pump was redone with the engine and the thermostat is new. There is a small drip at the back of the master cylinder. I don't know what that is. The truck runs well and drives real solid. As I said, it is original. Never been a hot rod or hacked up by some amateur. It is drivable just the way it is or you could restore it back to its original glory. I have all of the owners, parts and service manuals that I will include with the auction. I also will include a beautifully restored cab heater and wooden stake sides for the bed. It is currently stored inside in Branford, CT 06405. I strongly suggest that you come and see the truck for yourself before bidding. I have done my best to describe it accurately but I am not an expert. You can visit the garage that did all of the work and discuss in detail exactly what they did. You can fly in Hartford or any of the New York airports. Hartford is the easiest and the truck is about an hour away. I can help you with arrangements if you need them. Of course, the truck is being sold As-Is. Feel free to contact me with any questions. My home number is 203-386-9896 and cell number is 203-494-0477. Please call before 8:00pm EDT. My email is dwhall@optonline.net. I will be happy to help you with whatever you need. Thanks! Doug
