Vehicle Detail
Up for consideration is a 1968 Chevy C-10 Step-side Short-bed. Truck will start up and run without a problem, but will need motor work done to drive it a distance. How the truck is sitting currently, I would not consider highway worthy. I can not guarantee if this truck will pass any state inspections as I am unaware of what they check on the truck. We purchased this truck 11 years ago as a rebuild project, which we never got around to doing. During the 11 years we have owned the truck we have kept up on maintenance, added a header back flowmaster exhaust system and engine work to keep truck running. Finally after 11 years, we have decided to list this truck for sale as we would prefer to own a new truck with towing capabilities beyond what this truck can handle. There is rusting on the underside of the truck, cab corners are completely rusted through. The braking system has been upgraded to a newer age braking system. The front and rear axle are 5 lug instead of the original 6 lug that came with the truck. The rear suspension has been changed from coil spring to leaf spring. Rust spots on back side of cab, along with a small rust spot on interior firewall in front of passenger seat. No rust can be found around the front window. Rust spot on interior passengers side door sill (this is located towards the back where the door starts to curve up). This truck has a Chevy V-8 327 Shortblock with a Holley 750 double pumper carb installed. In the 11 years that I have owned the truck I have replaced the holley carb, new headers, new distributor. Truck has been really dependable, but with the recent engine problems, I just don't want to put anymore money into the truck when my necessities for a truck have changed. On start up the truck will smoke. While being driven, it has been known to backfire. We believe this is due to a bad valve spring, but can not guarantee that is the problem. The last high bidder decided he was not interested in the truck as too much would need to be done for a restoration. This truck would be a great truck for a fixer upper that you would like to take out on small dump runs or run to the local hardware store. If someone is looking for a MAJOR overhaul vehicle, this is the truck for them.I also have 3 additional doors, 2 hoods, 1 sliding rear window, and 1 rear tailgate that I will include with the sale of the truck. If you have any questions in reference to the truck please let me know, I will normally answer questions within a 24 hour period, but a lot of times your questions will be answered within a 12 hour period.
