1999 BMW 740il Offered for sale is my 1999 BMW 740il. This E38 shows very well and is extremely nice for a 11-year old car. The exterior is Oxford Green Metallic with Sand interior. It comes well equipped from the factory and everything is functioning as it should with a few exceptions that I will disclose in this listing. In the past year I have replaced or repaired the following: Trunk shocks replaced Power Steering pressure hose replaced All exterior door dings removed Replacement screwdriver for factory tool kit Aftermarket cupholder from Bavarian Autosport Factory first aid kit replaced New factory floor mats Radio/Audio Display (no more missing pixels) replaced BMW Roundel for trunk replaced BMW Roundels for wheel center caps replaced A/C Blower Motor and Resistor replaced New Tires New Windshield Let's start with the bad. I will do my best to be overly critical so that there will be no disappointments, however please keep in mind that this is an 11-year old car: There is a small oil leak coming from the front seal; it has never really bothered me enough to repair Windshield washer reservoir is cracked and will not hold fluid Service Engine Soon light is on; P0171 & P0174. Need to replace both O2 sensors before the Catalytic Converter Driver's Info Display has missing pixels and can be difficult to read at times (very common to E38's) Drivers Seat Leather is becoming worn Woodgrain Transmission Knob has cracks in the clearcoat finish Exterior paint does have defects in keeping with the vehicle's age, but still shows extremely well Lower Front Bumper cover has a hole on the passenger side Passenger side lower skirt has a significant scuff mark Now for the good: This E38 stills runs extremely well; I wouldn't hesitate to load up my family and drive anywhere across the country. As a matter of fact, we have a 2600 mile round-trip scheduled in December that we will take in this vehicle unless I sell it. It also still shows very well. I don't have to tell you that there is a certain amount of "prestige" that comes with owning a 7-series BMW, and it shows everywhere I go in it. No one seems to believe me when I tell them its' true age! Heads consistently turn (more so when my wife is driving it) and it is right at home, whether you are driving to the club, church, school, etc. I absolutely hate to sell, but my situation has changed and I need to purchase an SUV with a third row. Black Book value is over $12k; I am pricing my E38 vehicle well below that. Feel free to contact me with any questions .
