Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is Hector- my 49 KB2 that I've had since college. It has been parked in my dad's barn for 25 years and ran when parked. This is a truck from far northern Minnesota and has never seen salt! I tried jumping it last year and it turned over with the starter, but we got no spark at the coil. It would probably start right up with a new coil because that's what Binder's do! It has a factory original Knox step plate bed. It even has the keys! As far as condition, there are a few dents as seen in the pictures. the worst is the rip in one of the back fenders. It has a 55 gallon drum that I installed in the bed as a gas tank and I think that the original tank is probably in a scrap heap at my dad's Minn farm -rust flakes were plugging the line. I can't find the right headlight bezel, so it should be considered missing- although they're probably around the barn somewhere- I'll have my dad look for it. I believe that there are 3 long and 1 short stainless strips missing from the grill- otherwise it is complete and original. Surface rust only (aka "patina")- NO rust holes- this was a Northern Minnesota truck where they use no salt. Glass is pretty good- I think one crack in one of the door windows. Too many projects and not enough money, plus I live a whole country away now. It's located in my Dad's barn in Urbana, Ohio. I'd like it to go to someone who'll put 'er back on the road. Vehicle will be sold as is with no warrantee implied or stated. No title, I will supply a bill of sale. Buyer is responsible for vehicle pick up and delivery. $200 ot 25% of total (whichever is less) deposit due via paypal within 48 hrs of auction end. Remainder to be paid in cash or cashier's check upon pickup of vehicle. Vehicle must be picked up within 14 days of auction end. Bid it up, people. The hubcaps alone are worth more than the opening bid! NO RESERVE- high bidder gets it. Just love it- OK? On May-05-10 at 10:26:07 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: Dad has looked for the headlight bezel and can't find it- consider it missing. Also the headliner is gone (forgot about that). I had Dad check and both sun visors are present and in good shape. I also wanted to make clear that the original gas tank was scrapped in Minnesota and so should for all practical purposes be considered missing. Thanks for the bids! Gary.
