This VW has spent its entire life in the beautiful and secluded state of New Mexico (rust free)! It is fully equipped with all the good options AND everything works! It is powered by a 2.0L EFI air cooled engine with 126,3XX miles. It has a 4 speed standard transmission with reverse. It does have the 3-way fridge, stove, sink, pop top (with good canvas), auxiliary heater, propane tank, fresh water tank, and utility hookup for 110AC and city water. The tires are like new condition. This camper van is ready for fun filled summer excursions and road trips to any destination you can dream. The van runs and drives like it did when it came off the show room floor. Transmission shifts smoothly and effortlessly and the engine has great power. It drives straight down the highway without tugging or pulling (alignment is perfect). All the windows and glass are original as well as the original stereo and speakers. I have had the pleasure of buying and selling several camper vans and I can honestly tell you this is the cleanest all original van I have ever come across. Please visit my website at www.sniderswholesalenm.com for pictures and videos of this van. Exterior Body: The van is a light cream color with three original stripes that wrap around the entire van. The bottom dark burgundy stripe is a little faded and it’s to be expected on a 30 year old paint job. The original owner told me that there was no body work or paint work on the van, and my personal visual inspection tells me that he is right. It’s hard to appreciate the fact that this van is straight as an arrow over the internet, so that’s why I would appreciate you looking at the videos (they are in HD). The front of the van does have several very small rock chips (most the size of a medium ball point pin tip) in the paint because there is not a bra covering this area. Some of them have been touched up by the owner and some have not. The doors, hatchback door, and sides don’t have a dent, ding or rust anywhere. All the side marker lights and reflectors are present and in good condition. Both bumpers are original, straight, and in good condition. The back bumper does have a smooth dent where it looks like somebody stands to get inside or to work on the engine. I wouldn’t consider it damage, it’s just not “perfect.” The plastic trim caps on the bumpers are in good condition as well. There are two tow hooks under the back bumper that are straight and looks like they have never been used. All the weather stripping is good. It does not leak or anything like that and there are no repairs that I would think are necessary. However there is a piece of weather stripping on the roof that trims the front luggage rack (not the pop top) that is cracked and I think it should be repaired. The pop top weather strip is in good condition. The previous owner did touch up the white fiberglass roof in some areas, but is hardly noticeable. I wouldn’t have noticed it until he explicitly pointed it out. The metal gutter rails are straight and rust free. The rear hatchback area does have some fading paint above the glass on the drivers side. Glass: The Glass is all original and in good shape. All the windows roll up and down with no problems or binding. The rear glass does have a defroster that works. Vent windows work and the windshield is good except for two small rock chips that need repaired to prevent further cracking of the windshield. Weather stripping is good and does not leak around any of the glass. Interior: This is my favorite part of the bus. The carpet is sooo clean I asked the original owner if it had recently been replaced. After he chuckled, he told me that is the original 30 year old carpet. I am not kidding this carpet still shimmers in the sunlight like its brand new! Its not matted, broke down, ripped or torn. It really looks brand new! He also informed me that he put the seat covers on in about 1985. All the upholstery is original and in good condition. All the door panels in the front and rear look like they did when it was brand new. There is one panel in the rear cargo area that does have some cracking. I specifically point this out in the videos. The curtains are original and sun faded. A couple of them probably need replaced. Also the plastic trim around the refrigerator is broke and it makes the fridge door a little tough to close. Also, I would have never noticed unless it was pointed out; the rear view mirror’s plastic is broken but can only be seen from the outside looking in. It has the original stereo, original instrument cluster, original gauges, original and working dummy lights, original stereo switch to run stereo with ignition off, original auxiliary heat timer switch, etc… It is all original and not cut up. There’s no shorts, parasitic draws (they drive me nuts), and all the safety lights work and are in good condition. Horn, flashers, blinkers, brake lights, headlights, marker lights, and parking lights work just like they should. The DC fridge works. The 110AC outlet works when supplied with AC power. Everything is copacetic and ready for you to drive home! More stuff: The most frequently asked question is about the pop top canvas; it is in good condition. The screen is in good condition with no rips or tears. There is one little hole about 1/8 inch that needs to be patched on the drivers side. You can see it in one of the videos. Also there is a plastic trim piece that goes under the fiberglass shell that just staples on. It needs to be re-stapled. This van comes with all the original owners manual, campmobile manual, EFI trouble shooting guide, and a repair manual. The engine runs great. This van has been parked under my carport for two months and there is not a single drop of oil anywhere. Does not use oil or smoke.
