Vehicle Detail

SO SOLID, SO RARE!             Here’s a wagon you don’t see everyday. These Newport's are pretty rare in any condition (only 5634 made including both 6 and 9 passenger wagons) and this one’s extremely nice. The car spent most of it’s life in New Mexico and I have a nearly complete documentation of the vehicle’s repairs and services performed over the years. The 361, 2 barrel runs great and it does not smoke or use oil. Factory air, (not working but it could.... you know how that goes) push button transmission, push button everything for that matter!  Talk about Paradise by the Dashboard Light!! The Newport wagon has the never duplicated, award winning, juke box instrument pod that works perfectly. It’s almost dangerous to drive at night because you can’t take your eyes off it. (or at least I can’t) The metal portion has virtually no scratches and It looks factory new! The interior was replaced while still in New Mexico, but the dash was only covered and it should be replaced. The headliner is the cardboard type and, while in very good condition and solidly in place, it does show a couple of sections that gravity is getting the best of it. All original tinted glass is very good, the windshield has some wiper marks and very small star. The rear power window works from both the juke box and the key on the outside. The trim and chrome are in great shape, not dented or pitted as you can tell. Except for the spare tire well which I had repaired, THE METAL ON THIS CAR IS UNBELIEVABLE.   It’s so solid... the back tailgate that is prone to rust is super clean.  There are brand new tires and just had the brakes adjusted.  There is no pulling, thumping, or shaking and the brake pedal is full. The transmission started acting up recently so $1200 dollars later there now is a newly rebuilt Aamco Transmission in it.  This an honest description of the Newport, but keep your expectations realistic for a car that is nearly 50 years old.
