Vehicle Detail
1912 Ford Model t Runabout, Roadster w/mother-in-law seat Description: BODY STYLE: sometimes called Commercial Runabout, Tourabout or Roadster, CARS RECENT HISTORY: Since the mid 1980s this car was displayed in the Antique Auto Museum at Boothbay Railway Village in Boothbay, Maine. The car had a complete frame off restoration. Has a PA title! RESTORATION: Restoration included a complete engine and transmission rebuild. Since then it was stored inside the dry/heated museum. While in the museum the engine was occasionally started to keep the engine gas and oil fresh. The car was driven less then 100 miles. It runs great, and is fun to drive. Like any Model t the three petals are a little tricky until one gets use to them. TIRES: The model t has the original type wheels and tires. (Non-demountable wheels with smooth, white tires) These are nice to look at and great for a museum car. But if you plan to drive the car, the smooth white tires are not great for touring. The white tires show their age with some cracks and thin rubber. INFORMATION: The motor: the motor is dated 1920. Motor number: 4344354. It has an electric starter which was not available in 1912. COMES WITH: Lots of Brass Rubes horn with rubber bulb and brass tube. Two brass Gas head lights Two brass Kerosene side lights Brass rear view mirror Kerosene rear light Mother in-law seat: leather, with dust cover Gas generator Brass Ford scripted step plates 1912 PA license plate 6 volt electric starter Wooden spoke wheels with brass "Ford" hub covers original type tires For many years this car was proudly displayed at Booth Bay Railway Village in Maine.
