Here we have a 1968 Chevelle Malibu Convertible hot rod muscle car . It is powered by a potent GM crate engine HT383 4 spd auto and 12 bolt posi with 3.73 gears. I am listing this vehicle for a friend who has owned the car since 1997. He purchased the car with a 307 and powerglide trans that did nothing to satisfy the the need for speed . Having grown out of his one car garage and life changes he has deciced to sell the car due to other interests. The car is available for viewing at my shop where I have a lift and can be kept indoors out of the weather. I will list all the elements as honestly as I can. Please look at all pictures and read entire listing so you can have a good feel what this car is all about. All receipts available. The body as you see it was repainted/repaired approx 1995 and has been unchanged during his ownership. The frame is nice condition and shows no cracks or rot. It appears that the fenders have been replaced as well as the inner fenders no rust and have that GM black primer. The hood and trunk lid show no rust and no signs of filler. The driver door has a small spot at rear lower corner see pic. The passenger door, no signs of rust. They both open and close nice.The rear Quarters were replaced at this time with full skins just below the body line. The trunk pan is original to the car has no repairs or holes. The rear foot well areas of the floors have been replaced as well as the brace and have been welded in from the inside. The passenger side front has been patched over as small area can be seen from underside. The glass is all intact and in nice shape. The car shows nicely but is NOT a show car. With a light body and paint job the car could be truely amazing. The car deserves a complete refinishing. Chrome and trim is in nice condition and looks all to be original. The paint is faded and showing its age it has a couple dings, scratches, garage mishapes, and so on. After all its 42 years old and has been enjoyed and not locked up in a box. The Engine is a GM Crate engine HT 383 with the best of everything With aprox 500 miles since time of build. Engine has Brodix aluminum heads race rite 180cc intake,64cc chambers angle plugs, Lunati roller camshaft VooDoo part #60112 adv 282/290 dur, 1 peice harded push rods,1.6 Scorpian roller rockers, bowtie Aluminum valve covers, Msd 6a, Msd distributor, Edelbrock polished RPM air gap manifold, Pro Systems 850 carb with billet throttle plate. Hedman headers 1 5/8 . Powersystems polished alternator and Mini hi torque starter.The build has new hoses, brackets, pulleys, braided fuel lines, holley electric fuel pump, new rad and heater core mounts and so on. The engine produces serious torque and horspower and will plant you in the seat. Transmission is a beefed up 4spd 200 R4 with a 3000 rpm convertor , with a Denny's custom HD drive shaft to a 12 bolt Gm housing with tig welded axle tubes Eaton center section with 30 splined Moser axles 3.73 ratio,tubuler rear links with sway bar and poly bushings.Has great street manors and cruises on the highway around 2200 rpm. The build was based on" HT383 The Twister" google for more info. Interior is in original format and appears that the dash pad , seat covers, and carpet have been replaced at one time. Has vdo tach and s and w gauges. The car has had front end bushings, ball joints, shocks, inner and outer tie rods Power front disc brake conversion,. Alignment and drives straight and true. The power top is in good working order and showing its age around rear window see pics. Has Nitto street drag radials on custom 10" rally wheels. The 1968 Chevelle convertible Has the lowest production numbers with around 7,000 produced for all models combined. This car is not an original numbers matching.blah blah blah .If that what your after this is not the car for you.
