Standard Auction This has been a great car but it is time to move on. This is a 1996 Chrysler Cirrus which I bought new. It was a demonstrator car (basically a car that the dealership used to drive around) so I got a good deal when I bought it. They threw in an extended warranty and until it got 100,000 miles it had a bumper to bumper warranty. It is a four door vehicle and since I have small kids it has the latch upper hooks bolted in on the back window deck for car seats although it does not have the full lower latch parts due to its age they didn't have them then. It has alot of power options and has A/C however over the past couple years the A/C got warm and since I didn't drive it much I never had it charged so the A/C is no longer cold AT ALL. For some reason over the years the passenger seat became difficult to slide back and forth to adjust. It is all the way back and difficult to move forward. I am not sure why this is. It has a carpeted floor but it does not have floor mats. We live on a very long dusty drive way and for some reason the dust accumulates in the trunk so it is always dusty although a good sweep and shampoo would probably do a great deal of good. It has lighted vanity mirrors on the drivers as well as passenger sun visor. Over the years I have done a great deal of maintenance on it not so much due to it breaking down but more due to wear and tear from age and scheduled maintenance. Back in 2004 I was driving home from Columbus and it overheated and died on me. I had a salvage engine put in. The salvage engine had less than 70,000 miles on it I was told. When the engine was swapped a great deal of general maintenance was done and it ran well after that. I have always used Castrol oil and Lucas engine additive along with a FRAM Tough Guard filter every 3000 miles. When it got higher miles I started using the Castrol High Mileage oil which as some additives in it. I have also added Lucas fuel injector cleaner once a month. Now that you know some history on my car here is the bad news................. A few years ago I backed into a pole and busted the drivers side rear tail light cover. It also has a scratch on the passenger rear side bumper. It has some minor scratches and dents just from regular wear over the years. It is also missing the front drivers side hub cap. Last year a rock knocked a hole in my transmission pan after I hit a pot hole that dropped the front end down and the rock stuck up in just the right place. After driving a little ways I noticed a fluid trail behind me and shut the car down. I had it towed home where I removed the pan. I tried to find another but I could not find one in a salvage yard and I was not willing to buy new one from Chrysler which I figured would be expensive (probably $100 I figured?). I had the pan welded and then I put it back on however when I was tightening one of the bolts on the drivers side of the transmission pan I twisted off the head of the bolt. I tried to start and move the car with that one bolt head missing, however I began loosing fluid quickly. I fooled with it some and thought perhaps I could put on a thicker gasket so I bought 2 new gaskets (pictured and included in the auction). I also considered using an easy out to pull out the bolt. However in the end I had considered selling it before this transmission pan problem so I did not work on it and I just sit it back and waited to decide what to do. Well it has been almost a year and I guess it is time to do something so I have put it up for sale locally as well as on here. To give more detail and to let you hear it start and get revved up I put a video of it on you tube. To see the video go to the link below: http://www.youtube.com/user/imaginedeals?feature=mhw5 To also help you I made a link to Kelly Blue Book to show the value on this car which is $1590. Go to the link below to see the Kelly Blue book on it: http://www.kbb.com/kbb/UsedCars/PricingReport.aspx?YearId=1996&Mileage=148850&VehicleClass=UsedCar&ManufacturerId=10&ModelId=425&PriceType=Private+Party&VehicleId=8779&SelectionHistory=8779|32875|45644|0|0|324181|true|324185|true|324189|true|324193|true&Condition=Fair&QuizConditions= I want to make sure I am very clear in the following; Due to the transmission leak the car will need to be towed. You could fill it up with transmission fluid but the leak is fast enough that I do not think it would be wise and you may damage the transmission!!!!! THIS VEHICLE IS USED AND NEEDS SOME MECHANICAL WORK!!! IT IS SOLD AS IS, NO REFUNDS OR RETURNS PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS I WILL ANSWER THEM AS DETAILED AS POSSIBLE AS YOU CAN SEE FROM MY FEEDBACK I AM HONEST AND I TRY TO GIVE ALOT OF INFORMATION AS EVIDENT FROM THIS LISTING
