1999 New Beetle TDI 5psd Manual 170K Miles Full timing belt service completed at 168,000 miles by a Volkswagen Service Centre Foreman using the ALH timing belt kit from IDParts.com, including the belt, tensioner and all rollers. Intake manifold and EGR system has been completely cleaned. Actuator on turbocharger replaced at the same time. Car is properly making full power, proper boost and is fast! Turbocharger is healthy and not leaking oil, new battery. Timing properly adjusted when belt change was done. Glow plugs are within spec, harnesss is in good condition and engine starts immediately even when very cold. Overall, engine is running 100%. Handling is very good as it is based on the same platform as the Audi TT and the New Beetle is the lightest and best balanced TDI VW ever made. 45 miles to the gallon, 50+ on the highway. All maintenance done for the next 100,000 miles. Even though the vehicle history report indicates this car has been in a minor accident we have paint metered this car and find NO evidence of paint or body work. This car is fun to drive (we are still driving it!) and the mileage is just unbelievable, it is in terrific condition for the mileage. Please feel free to call me with any questions at 781-534-8999.
