Right up front, I don’t really want to sell this car. I would rather keep it but finances keep me from doing so. We’re the number one Volvo seller on eBay and this is the one Volvo I have wanted very badly to keep for my own. That’s how nice it is and I love driving this car. We had to pay a very high price to get a classic Volvo this nice and any other dealer would put it in their showroom for $5495 all day long. We'll be very lucky to break even on it here but we're committed to our no reserve selling policy. 1991 was the first year for the Turbo 940 and the year they made the most horsepower. It is also very hard to find in the very sexy (never said that before about a Volvo) Arrest Me Red with the tan leather interior. The '91 940 turbo also differed from the regular 940 with a better suspension and 16-inch sport alloy rims carrying wider tires. Volvo considered this model more of a Grand Touring luxury sports car as opposed to something pure sports. The extra weight and luxury made it perfect for burning up the highway at high speeds all day long. Even today a well-preserved example like this one has very exhilarating acceleration and handling. The hard thing these days is finding one like this that still drives and handles crisply and like new. As you have already seen this is one superb 940 considering it is 19 years old! These are always nice, safe, reliable cars to have around because they are solid and have four doors. With all of Volvo’s traditional safety, the 940s are extraordinarily comfortable on the road and return excellent fuel economy for their size! With this car it is all Volvo but the Turbo and better suspension make it one of the most fun, yet practical, cars ever made. The exterior is in hands down excellent condition. The body is totally rust and damage free with far fewer than the normally expected little nicks, dings, and scratches. Being arrest me red, some natural age fade is expected but it is minimal as this car spent a lot of time in a garage. Still, a good detailing and waxing would remove any oxidation make it close to showroom perfect. Notice how the headlights don't show any clouding from age. There is no way you’re not going to be pleased! Here you can see the condition of the Volvo sport alloy rims. The sport compound tires all have excellent tread on them! Look at how nice this underbody is. It is clean enough to tongue kiss if you want to. Hard to imagine it being 19 years old! I’ve put about 600 miles on this car from autumn to snow to spring. It has performed flawlessly all the time and I wouldn’t hesitate to hop into it and drive it cross-country in a minute. I’ll show this beauty off and let it speak to you itself! Good luck finding another one this nice! Everything about this ’91 Volvo 940 Turbo screams quality, pure class and luxury, and longevity! It’s rare to see them in this kind of condition AND also in a NO RESERVE auction! Here’s your chance to own one of these rare and beautiful classics! For a 19 year old non-smoking interior we were stunned! The tan leather seats are all in beautiful condition. There is very little abnormal wear showing. All the power adjustments on the driver’s seat work and both front seats are heated. This was very nice in the dead of winter. This is really a beautifully kept interior for its age! The inner door panels are looking just as great! The dash area is in the same superb condition as the rest of the car. The dash itself has no cracks, warping, or fade. All power windows and mirrors work perfectly. The sunroof also works. The stock stereo works great, the speakers sound super, but the power antenna doesn’t work. The climate control system works perfectly and the AC is blowing ice cold. The electric rear window defroster works great from experience. All the gauges work except for the fuel gauge. I’ve determined that it is the sending unit that needs to be replaced. The antenna and fuel gauge are the only two flaws this car has. There is absolutely no way to go wrong with this dash area. This ’91 940 Turbo has only 103K miles on it! It is tough to find better miles on one of these Volvos because they run forever and people buy them to drive them. As it is, this comes out to ONLY about 4500 miles per year! Good luck beating that 19 years down the road! As fun as this 940 is to drive I have a hard time not driving it and I have found myself taking the long way home several times so I can feel that turbo spin! The original manuals are included! Look at this SWEET, clean trunk! The spare, jack, and tools, are right underneath. Even the pair of gloves to protect your hands when changing a tire are included! This is an outstanding interior considering it’s age and the mileage on the car! The older Volvos like this normally get hard use from their owners and it is very RARE to find an interior in this kind of condition! Under the hood is the famous 2.3-liter 8-valve fuel injected turbocharged four cylinder. It starts and runs great with no leaking or smoking! This engine is reliable and very inexpensive to maintain! The degree of quality in the older Volvo motors guarantees them lasting 300K+ miles with only simple maintenance. It gives great torque and is still rated to return excellent fuel economy even by today’s standards! You can see how clean everything is! The automatic transmission with electronic overdrive shifts perfectly in all driving conditions. While we didn’t get the service records with this car and I can’t say for sure when the timing belt was changed I have zero doubts about it having been properly maintained. Cars don’t survive looking like this unless they’re properly cared for inside and out. The only mechanical things I did to it was replace the fuel pressure regulator (which was broken and probably the reason why the car was traded) and the primary fuel pump (because it was buzzing louder than normal). This car is ready to drive anywhere! And here is the VIN plate just so everyone can do their due diligence! After a vehicle is purchased and then put under a microscope by the buyer doesn’t mean we knew of, or take responsibility for, flaws that we were not aware of when listing the vehicle. Lack of cleanliness is not a defect! Please use common sense before asking us silly questions like if a car has been in a flood, a major accident, or if the title is clear. We are very upfront in our descriptions and disclose everything we know about a car in it. It is insulting to us that someone would think we would violate federal law and not disclose that a car has sat on the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico. Our descriptions, including vehicle features, are listed as accurately as possible, although we are not responsible for typographical errors in the listing. We cannot/will not guarantee systems like Air Conditioning. A vehicle’s air conditioning system may operate fine when we check the vehicle and the not when you come and pick it up. This happens if a system has a small leak that we have no way of knowing about, especially when a vehicle sits. The same thing applies to stereos. We will not reimburse for or perform any air conditioning system repair on any vehicle, even if the system is listed as working and it does not when you pick up the vehicle. This also applies to power options (windows, locks, seats, mirrors, radios, climate control, entertainment systems, etc) Being that these are used vehicles, not all original equipment is always included with the vehicle. Items including, but not limited to, extra keys, owners manuals, new car smell, spare tires (jacks, wheel tools), remotes, CD changer magazines, and floor mats, may not be included with the vehicle. The seller will not pay for these items if they are not there, or remove them from another vehicle. Most of these items can be purchased from a dealer or auto parts store very cheaply. A 20-year old car with 150,000 miles, even in the best of shape, is still 20 years old and still has 150,000 miles.
