Vehicle Detail

This is a relisting because the winning bidder thought that he could bid first and then try to renegotiate the terms of the sale. Shame on him, any good eBayer knows that if you don't accept the terms, don't bid. Do read the terms carefully, they're quite reasonable and this is a worthy car for Alfa lovers. Offered is my Alfa 164 that has been driven regularly by me for the past year -- three to four times a week. This was Alfa's last hurrah in the U.S. and has gained a cult following in the past few years because if offers performance, style, and exclusivity in an attractive package. This is a Alfa that runs, is in good shape, and makes a great tourer. But, in fairness, this vehicle was made eighteen years ago and if you look close, she shows her age. There are scratches, the paint is aged and has nicks, and a close inspection will find many weekend projects that will make her better. The interior has a few cracks and tears, seats, carpets, etc. The blower motor works, but makes a horrendous noise which would indicate that the stepper gears are failing -- a common issue with this model. Even though I've had the brakes checked and the rear brake valve replaced, the brake and ABS warning lights stay on. There is an exhaust leak that it noticeable at start-up but fades away as the car warms up. These issues notwithstanding, the car runs and drives in good fashion. I believe she would cruise easily to either coast, but cannot guarantee what will happen given the age and mileage. You can assume the risk and drive her home or bring a trailer. There is a tremendous amont of support for the 164 on the web and detailed advice on most repair and maintenance procedures. The photo of the instrument panel shows the gauges at 3000 rpm. So if you want a good looking Alfa that you can enjoy tomorrow, here she is. And check out the photo of the trunk -- its full of parts that come with the car. There is no reserve, so make your best bid! TERMS: Please read carefully, your bid indicates you have agreed to all of the following. Of course the Alfa is sold AS IS, WHERE IS with absolutely no warranty. It's garaged in Terre Haute, Indiana, about fifteen minutes north of Exit 11 off Interstate 70. The buyer will have full responsibility for shipping and will trailer it home or arrange for a shipper. A non-refundable deposit of $500 US must be received within 48 hours of the end of the auction. Payment in full must be received within ten calendar days after the close of the auction and the Alfa must be removed within twenty calendar days. Bidders with less than a feedback score of ten may have their bid canceled if they do not send me a message through eBay before bidding. Just tell me that your serious; there's a lot of nonsense going on with car auctions -- witness the number of ones relisted. Your bid indicates that you have read and accepted these terms. Go for it!
