Up for auction is my classic 1940 Cadillac LaSalle, 4 door sedan. This is a 52-19 series and it's the last year that Cadillac made the LaSalle. This car has been parked for the last 4 years but it still starts up and runs. It will need a few minor things done to it to make it road worthy including new fuel filters, oil changed etc. The motor is the original 322 Flathead V-8 and it was rebuilt just before it was parked so it only has around 1000 miles on it. The interior was also completely redone including the seats, headliner and the door panels and it's still in excellent condition. It has the original 16" steel rims on it and all 4 original hubcaps. The tires are in okay condition and they all hold air but they are weather checked on the sidewalls and should probably be replaced. The car also had a new paint job on it just before it was parked but the shop that repainted it didn't do a very good job and they only put one coat of clear on it so the clear coat is peeling but the body is straight and it doesn't have any rust, no dings and no dents so there would be very little body work needed before you repainting it. The chrome on the bumpers is also starting to peel a little bit in spots but they are straight. Except for the new upholstery, this car is completely original including all the original decals, emblems and ornaments. I also have an extra hood and an extra right and left front fender for it that I will include in the price. This car drives like a dream and it has no problems running 80 mph down the road. It would not take much to make this classic car show ready. There was only 13,750 of these cars made and my reserve price is much lower then the NADA LOW book price on them which is around $20,000. The buyer is required to place a $500.00 non-refundable deposit with Paypal within 24 hours after the auction ends. The balance is to be paid within 7 days after the auction ends. If you plan on picking the car up yourself then the balance is to be paid in cash. If you plan on having the car shipped, the balance is to be paid by certified bank check, cashiers check or Postal Money Orders within 7 days and the checks MUST clear my bank before I will release the car for shipping.
