1973 Volkswagen Thing - Type 181 Overall this Vehicle is in good - all original condition, no modifications, with lots of extras. Definite Potential..!!! It has been a daily driver for me for 4 years. I have done my best to describe it below. Allthough I drive this vehicle myself..it is still in need of some mechanical restoration to improve it's quality of driving. Though I do still trust it for in town driving, I recommend towing or trailering this vehicle if out of the state of Colorado... TOW BAR INCLUDED (2' Ball) I sincerley hate to part with it. I can supply additional photos and information regarding this vehicle to your email address upon request.... email: im@frontier.net or call 970.779.0262 PROS: clear title starts fine / runs ok / could use a fresh tune up / carb choke needs adjusted for proper idle aprox 30,000 miles on the rebuilt 1600 VW Motor transmission and clutch are in good working order / shifts into all gears well New Pan installed in 2006 all electrical systems function properly - lights / turn signals / Horn / wipers ect. Eberspacher heater is intact / functional - with it's original fuel pump (new) Spare tire / spare tire clamp is in tact and functional - all 4 original hubcaps comes with 3 tops - Hard top / Soft Top / Acapulco Tube Frame Top Additional Seat Covers - NEW Additional Deck Lid (the original is not damaged, Just have it on hand) additional body moulding/trim included - NEW Original Jack electric fuel pump Catchy cosmetic Rear turn Signal covers Has both original bumpers Gas cap intact Windshield wiper mechanism / bar intact all doors close tight and lock properly - handles intact trunk lid closes tight and locks / releases properly - handle intact CONS: Has all 4 windows - 2 are great / 2 need restoration / straight frames on all Needs a little restoration here and there. Brake pedal spring needs replaced - brakes need bled (must pump brakes to stop vehicle) Seats have been replaced (frames welded in) with standard high back Beetle seats (covers are good but I am including additional NEW covers still boxed) Front end work and alignment - steering wheel location indicates this vehical will need alignment. It will also need new ball joints and tie rod ends before an alignment can be properly completed.
