Vehicle Detail
I will be as up front and detailed as possible in this listing because I know buying a car over the internet increases the already present tension of buying a used car. This car is ready to go. It has brand new brake pads and new tires installed within the month. A 1,500 dollar expense. First off this car is a salvage title. I bought it at 18 thousand miles from a private seller in Orange County. The car had been hit in the rear and had been repaired by a prominent Subaru specialist who mainly converted Imprezas into rally cars. I was very nervous about buying a repaired car but I really wanted an STI and this particular car was in the best condition in my price range. Since then I have driven the car for 23 thousand miles and had absolutely zero problems. Mechanically this car has performed flawlessly and is in pristine shape. When I got a custom tune (more on that later) I was told it had excellent results compared to other STIs that he had tuned. I have been extremely careful and meticulous in maintaining this car. Oil has been changed every 3 to 3.5k miles (the manual requires oil changes every 7.5k) with German Castrol Synthetic. All other maintenance has been diligently performed as well. If the buyer wishes I will gladly perform a leak down/ compression test as well. The exterior has several issues. The paint is in great condition. It has been waxed monthly and clayed when needed. However, it has a paint chip in the bumper that is a result of being tapped from behind in my own driveway. The bumper also has a small abrasion on the side. Second, there is a scrape on the rear passenger door that occurred from squeezing into a tight parking space. Third the front splitters have normal scrapes from going up and down steep driveways. Fourth, there are very minor blemishes in the paint above the rear drivers side door. I have pictured all of these and please study the pictures closely. The car is still beautiful. The interior is fair condition. The paint on the dashboard has a scratch and the passenger seat has a minor stain on its side. Both have been pictured. The rear window on the drivers side does not work, I never take passengers so I never took it in. Modifications: This car will be bone stock save springs and a DEFI boost gauge. The springs are Race Comp Engineering Yellows. They are highly regarded for STIs and my favorite mod as they reduced the annoying bobblehead the stock spring had. (basically, stock, STIs have very little strut travel before you hit the bump stops and you are constantly riding on them creating a “bobblehead” effect. The firmer rates of these springs serve to remedy this problem). DEFI makes some of the finest gauges you can buy. I have been in the Subaru game for awhile (I had a 2002 wrx wagon prior to this) so all modifications performed have been done with the utmost intelligence and care. Beware there are many STIs out their that have had blow off valves or downpipes simply slapped on and this is potentially very harmful to the car. This car has been stage 2 since around 25k miles. It had on it a -Zero 1000 top fuel cat back. Rare jdm exhaust has a beautiful throaty sound but is not too loud. I would compare to in between a maddad whisper and cobb catback. -Titek catted bellmouth downpipe. -Injen CAI. 65mm. -Cobb accesport with custom Harman Motive protune. I have never ran any of these parts without being tuned, the most common cause of engine problems associated with modifications in Subarus. I had the car custom tuned at Harman Motive, www.harmanmotive.com, which is one of the most reputable Subaru tuner in California. Running an STI with these modifications is not detrimental to the longevity of the motor and can be safer because you have a map that is custom made especially for your cars individual characteristics. All these parts have been removed from the car. I would consider selling them separately with the car for the right price if the buyer wishes. You will get a custom tune made specifically for the parts, cost me $500, free of charge. So I hope this gives you a clear picture of the car. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions and I will respond promptly. Reserve is set LOW for an STI of this mileage. The Kelly Blue Book Value for a 2005 STI with this mileage is at minimum 18,500. Buy this car for WAY below that. Will ship at buyers expense.
