This 1965 Dodge Dart two door sedan, is a good running and driving car that someone began to refurbish, but unfortunately gave up before completing. Bought new in Southern Ca. the odometer shows 89K miles, (which we assume is really 189K) and appears rust free. Records indicate the engine was rebuilt at 79K, but that may have been 179K as it feels tight and strong. The paint is a strange shade of gray/green and is a very amateur job. It has a lot of overspray as well as embedded grit and polished through areas. It's almost as if a shop class used this car to practice on, as it has a very thorough color change, (under hood, inside trunk) but very little was masked off. (see the photo of the firewall) Much of the trim was never reinstalled after the paint job and presumed missing. Inside is a different story, where someone spent quite a bit money on the carpet, door panels, headliner and upholstery. The doors also have new seals, and the windshield gasket is almost new. Unfortunately the dashboard plastic and steering wheel are old and faded, and the defroster vents are broken and beyond repair. Mechanically it runs and drives great, but has an exhaust leak and the tires are not safe. It has three old bias ply tires featuring flat spots and sidewall cracks, and one brand new radial. So if you plan on driving this car home, your first stop should definitely be the tire shop. With a bit of TLC and elbow grease this car could make a great retro cruiser. With the indestructable slant six and 727 auto combo, you should have many miles of fun. NO RESERVE! This 1965 Dodge Dart two door sedan, is a good running and driving car that someone began to refurbish, but unfortunately gave up before completing.
