Reducing my collection of 20 cars by order of my wife! This 65 Starfire Convertible is a very solid car with 425 cu in 375HP engine and smooth shifting Turbo 400 trans. Engine runs well but has some blow-by. It has a NEW left side exhaust manifold. The leather interior is in excellent condition as well as the carpet with the correct chrome inserts. Dash is un-cracked and interior chrome is excellent. Power top was new five years ago; is in excellent condition and works fine with glass rear window. Car has power seat, power windows, remote trunk release and tilt wheel. A/C has just been rebuilt by at a cost of $4,000.00 by Vintage Air in Fla. and has new compressor, dryer, all new controls, evaporator box vacuum motors rebuilt, new fan motor, and charged with R-12. Dashboard was removed and restored 1965 AM radio was installed. Car has new shocks and sits and rides well. Brakes are fine with straight stops. Car will need tires. I bought this car four years ago for $12,000.00 on e-bay and was misled by seller, so I have given an accurate description. Car needs paint but it is extremely straight with NO door dings. Exterior chrome is good but has some rust behind the passenger side rear quarter molding. Hidden by molding but will need repair. Trunk floor is very solid. Has correct thru the side exhaust outlets. One of only 2230 Starfire convertibles built in 1965, their last year of production. I have $17,500 invested but wife says must go so my loss is your gain. This car has an excellent interior and very solid "bones" and is deserving of completion. Old cars price guide shows this car at $23,000 completed and NADA value is $28,000. This is a no reserve auction and it will sell to the highest bidder. Serious bidders only please as I sold the car last October on e-bay and the bidder never paid. The car has power windows which operate quickly and a power top which operates correctly. The car also has cornering lamps and remote trunk release. Car also has tilt wheel and remote mirror. The Starfire was Oldsmobile's top of the line. Leather interior, bucket seats, console, power windows were standard.
