This car has a 1956 289 Studebaker V8 motor with an AFB Fourbarrel and a Mopar 4 speed with a Hurst shifter and dual exhaust. This Stude was restored 15 years ago, by an older gentleman who, by trade, was an excellent bodyman, his claim to fame was that he metal finished all his cars, so this car supposedly hasn’t got any Bondo, but does have some lead and spot putty. At the time the car was restored, the 56 motor was rebuilt and installed along with the 4 speed transmission. I have looked everywhere on this car, and cannot see any rust anywhere. The floorboards are excellent, as is the frame. All the glass is good, all the gauges, wipers, turnsignals, horn, heater, lights work. The paint is acrylic enamel, its got a lot of chips, but still looks good. The upholstery was done when it was painted, its good but showing some wear. The motor still runs good, doesn’t smoke. The wide Whites tires are shot, but I am going to replace them with some good used radial tires with the stock wheels and hubcaps. The brakes work and don’t leak, but will need some attention in the near future. This is one of the nicest and rust-free bodies I have seen lately for a Studebaker. This car for this day and age is in excellent shape, you can have fun with it the way it is, or restore to perfection.
