In 1987 the first turbo model was introduced and featured a 3.0L that put out an impressive 230hp and 240 lb-ft of torque. The turbo models also featured an engine oil cooler, rear spoiler, a standard sports package with limited slip differential, TEMS adjustable suspension, headlight washer, and an available automatic transmission BUT not with TARGA TOP(targa is not a sunroof). It is estimated that around 30k, mostly all 5 speed manual some automatics, were exported to the United States in 1987. There were 2 turbo's with targa tops and automatic shipped to North America via Canada. This is one of the two. I flew to Ottawa to purchase. The Supra Turbo came standard with all the bells and whistles which were all still functional when I stored in my garage since 1999. Starts up and runs. Had turbo restored along with other minor work. Check pictures and see the difference between a normal 87 and this car. Forerunner to car featured in Fast and Furious.
