This is a NO RESERVE auction. It will sell to the highest bidder regardless of price. There is no buy it now price. Please do not ask me to end the auction early. Up for sale is a highly desirable 2001 Ford Excursion Limited 4x4 powered by the famous 7.3 Powerstroke diesel with only 182,000 original miles. It was purchased brand new here in Louisville, KY from Bill Collins Ford, and has remained in the Louisville area since new. I purchased it from the original owner with the intent to list it here on Ebay for sale. Mechanical: The 7.3 Powerstroke diesel runs flawlessly. On a 35 degree day, it starts on the first try, as soon as the glow plug light goes out. It does not miss or sputter. It does not smoke at all. The transmission also shifts flawlessly. I have not tried the 4x4. I just had the oil and filter changed. It leaked a few drops of oil in my garage, but nothing major. The rear diff cover seeps and needs to be resealed. The under hood insulation is coming loose and hangs down. Exterior: The willow green paint shows nicely. It appears to be about 70-80% original. There are minor dents and scratches that are typical for the year and miles. The wheels are in good condition and the tires are at least 50% Michelins. The hood has a light crease and has a scrape in the front hidden by the bugshield. The right front fender has a dent hidden by the bugshield. The grille has scratches. The front bumper has dents. The passenger mirror glass is loose and is glitchy. The rear door has a scrape deep in the fiberglass. Interior: It looks very good overall and shows very little sign of wear. All of the seats are in exceptionally good condition. It even has the original floor mats. It is missing one of the second row headrests. One of the rear door interior panels is missing. Some of the windows roll down slowly, especially the drivers window. It sometimes stops midway, but will finally roll down. At least one of the door lock actuators is not working. Overall: A very nice looking southern, rust free Excursion that starts and runs good. I would not hesitate to drive it across country tomorrow. It drives down the highway straight with no wobbles or problems at 75 MPH. It has flaws and is not perfect by any means. I have tried to list all of its flaws, but I am sure that I have missed some. If you expect a like new vehicle, you will be disappointed. If you expect a nice, clean, will maintained 18 year old vehicle with 182,000 miles, you will be pleased.
