Up for sale is my 1998 BMW K1200RS Sport Touring motorcycle. This is the first year for the RS and has it's special edition Dakar Yellow and Silver paint scheme and checkered flag cowling. I am the second owner of this bike and it has spent its life either in a garage or enclosed trailer. Lack of time forces me to part ways and hope that someone else will enjoy the bike as I have. Currently the odometer shows 17,338 miles. It runs extremely well and does not disappoint on a ride. Engine starts and idles as it should, and revs freely through the range of operation. Clutch and transmission shift smoothly through all 6 gears. ABS brakes work smooth and there is no pulsation or warping of the rotors. Suspension works clean and ride is comfortable. All electronics work as they should. It will need tires. This BMW comes with several additions. A set of Pirates Lair bar backs have the handle bars set back and up for a more comfortable position. ThrottleMeister throttle lock ends allow for a more comfortable long ride. BMW system cases on the rear come off the bike and carry like suitcases. Both cases are keyed to the ignition key. A BMW tail bag clamps onto the rear. The original owner purchased this, but did not have the lock keyed, so it comes off the bike without a key. I have added a Bags Connection tank bag and power lead. This allows for two power outlets in the bag for GPS, phone MP3 player or what have you. This bag pops off the tank with a pull of the release and it rides above the tank without rubbing or chaffing the paint and allows easy access to the fuel filler. I will include my older Garmin Nuvi GPS that mounts on a suction cup base. A quick connection for the included battery tender supports maintaining the battery level. The original windshield will be included and is bagged and boxed for safe keeping. A CD and fully printed shop manual is included for servicing the bike. I have two factory BMW keys which come with the bike. Should you have questions, please contact me for clarification. There are some marks on the right side from where the previous owner knocked the bike over in his garage. This is visible in the photo posted of the right cowl side. If you are looking at the spot on the driveway, it is water from where I had washed the bike and once parked, some water dripped off the bike and puddled there and had not evaporated yet. Bike is located in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Local pickup only. Successful winning bidder is to pay a $500.00 deposit within 72 hours, the balance to be paid within one week from end of auction. Clean title will transfer once bike is paid for in total. I will provide a signed bill of sale to the winning bidder and there are several title service businesses locally to complete the sale. I will accept PayPal for the deposit, the balance to be paid in cash, or postal money order. No certified checks, Nigerian banks or Monopoly money. The bike is listed locally, so it is subject to be sold and listing removed. The last buyer had to bow out as he was 66 years old and not able to handle the bike properly with a leg problem. I allow him out of the sale.
