Up for sale is 1962 Chevy Impala 2 door hardtop If you've ever wanted an old school muscle car without sacrificing creature comforts, this is the car for you! This Impala is powered by a healthy 396 big block backed by a Turbo 400 Hydramatic transmission. Putting the power to the ground is a freshly rebuilt Ford 9" rear end with 3:50 gears. The car has 4 wheel power disc brakes, power steering, and air conditioning to make it a comfortable cruiser. The seats, dash, and carpet are very nice. The headliner is original and intact. The door panels are also nice looking originals but are showing their age on the bottom of the panels. The car is 100% complete and functional. The stainless trim is all there and in good driver quality appearance. An aftermarket AM/FM CD player is installed and concealed in the glove box for an original look to the dash. The car has a nice 22 year old driver quality paint job, however there are some blemishes and chips as you would expect with an older restoration. The car also at one time had water-based painted graphics inspired by the 60's era drag racing scene. The car wasn't a drag car, just built as a memorabilia piece of drag racing history, although it will lay down some rubber. The graphics were removed and the car was hand waxed. As you can see in the pictures, the car looks fantastic although up close and in the right lighting, you can still see a faint "halo" of where the graphics once were. The remaining outline of the graphics may be able to be professionally buffed out. I included a pic of how the car looked with the graphics. This is not a concourse restoration, but it is a very nice collectible hot rod that runs and drives very nice. It's always a conversation piece at the gas pumps and gets the thumbs up and "Nice car man!" wherever we go. The car will come with a set of classic GM 15" rally wheels complete with beauty rings and center caps. The front wheels are 7" wide and the rears are 8" wide and have good tires.
