In 1990, Chevrolet decided to build a high-performance pickup, dropping the big-block, 454 cubic inch, engine into the 1500 series half ton. Thus, the 454 SS was born! Not a lot were produced, a mere 13,748 in 1990. These trucks have since gained collector status and prices have been on the rise for a few years now.... This truck is in very nice condition, with one issue – the big block engine has a knocking in the bottom end. It has been diagnosed as a rod knock. The body is very straight with paint that still shines and the cloth interior is also very nice with no tears in the seats. The truck will run and move. The transmission shifts properly. The A/C blows cold. It has 20” Alloy Wheels and the tires have good tread remaining. With a bit of work, this very cool 454 SS will be back on the road, turning heads!
