Vehicle Detail
I've decided to part with this 1972 Blazer 4x4. I had planned on doing a total restoration on this truck at some point but things have changed. I have several others that are half done so it's time to let this one go.So this 72' had been sitting for many years before I purchased it. The previous owner couldn't remember exactly how long but judging by the receipts I found inside I would say around 1995.The truck has a 350 4bbl engine, 4 speed manual sm465 transmission, NP205 Transfer case, disk brake front end, power steering power brakes 3.73 gears. The following are some of the things I've done to it since i've owned it:I sandblasted and painted the valve covers, new gaskets, new engine oil, filter, all new antifreeze, and power steering fluid. New power steering pump mount. I disassembled the original date coded 1972 Qjet, soaked it, and completely rebuilt it. New KNN air filter assembly, new fuel pump, fuel lines and filter, new original style fuel tank, fuel tank sending unit and strap kit. The original tank was just too nasty to save. New battery, battery cables and ends, new AC spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor. The truck had already been upgraded to a big cap HEI distributor. I also installed a new ignition switch, and lock key set. New headlight switch, light bulbs throughout. It had a late 70's chevy truck steering wheel on it that liked to melt when it got hot. I replaced it with a brand new comfort grip steering wheel kit from Classic parts. I'm pretty sure that was the best thing I did to the whole truck! I installed a new set of BF Goodrich tires on a set of later 70's rally wheels. They look and ride nice. Also new original style windshield wipers. As you can see in the pictures, the original front seat are long gone. There's a pickup bench seat in place. It tilts forward so it's newer than 1972. I put a cover on it. I'm sure whoever ends up with this Blazer will want to ditch it and find some nice buckets. The rear seat is still with the truck. The top is the single wall version and is structurally sound. There's no chunks broken or notable cracks in it. Of course there's rust here and there like all of these unrestored 50 year old vehicles. All very fixable. I've restored many of these Blazers over the years and know them quite well.It runs very good. starts rite up and ideas smooth and makes real good oil pressure. The exhaust is there but is old. It should be replaced. Everything is pretty well there, iv'e replaced things that were missing and broken throughout the truck as I have many spare parts for these. Obviously this is a driver or a start to a really nice Blazer. These are doing nothing but climbing in value every year and there are only so many left in this condition. I am running this one at no reserve, it's on here to sell. Please do not bid on this if you don't fully intend to own it. Ask questions and concerns before you bid. Most of these iv'e sold on here sell before the auction ends so if your serious, make an offer!! The buyer is responsible for any and all shipping costs if thats the route you go. I'm happy to recommend shippers and work with them. I've done it dozens of times. I recently took the title in to the DMV to have it put in my name. So the title should be back here soon from the state. Obviously theres no warranty on this truck. Any questions feel free to ask.On Jun-19-18 at 11:16:37 PDT, seller added the following information: A few more things I should mention:Yesterday I drove the Blazer about 10 miles, it makes lots of power and runs quit well. The brakes all work as they should as does the power steering. Hi and low beam lights work, brake lights, turn signals too. windshield wipers work on both speeds, the speedometer works, fuel gauge works and is accurate now since I replaced the sending unit. Also the oil pressure and water temp gauges works. On Jun-21-18 at 20:52:38 PDT, seller added the following information: I GUESS I STILL NEED TO MENTION THIS IN MY AUCTIONS.IF YOU HAVE ZERO FEEDBACK, AND YOU WON'T RESPOND TO MY IDENTITY INQUIRIES, YOUR BIDS WILL BE CANCELED. Sorry for the inconvenience to the people on here trying to play by the rules.
