THIS SCOOTER BEING RE-LISTED DUE TO BACK TO BACK NON-PAYING HIGH BIDDERS. NEVER HEARD FROM ONE, THE OTHER FAILED TO GET WIFE'S PERMISSION PRIOR TO BIDDING - DON'T DO THAT (PLEASE) If you own one, or are familiar with the Sym Symba, then you love it and want to keep it forever. Unfortunately I would have done just that were it not for the fact that someone pulled out in front of me and I had nowhere to go except the side of their car! Unfortunately the accident bent the front forks, cracked the front fender assembly as well as the fairing, and destroyed the left side mirror. The left rear turn signal is also damaged but operative. In addition there appears to be a hair line crack in the left front support for the front forks (see photo). I’d highly suggest getting this welded or otherwise repaired for safety reasons.Other than these things, to my untrained eye it appears to be just like it did before the accident occurred. Engine, transmission, etc. work perfectly. While it is an excellent source for replacement parts for someone’s existing Symba, assuming the front fork support is repairable it appears to be a good candidate for repairing. Reason for selling is wife and friends INSIST I give up riding scooters (may also have something to do with getting older). The bike was bought new in 2013 and ran great, only 1,600 miles on the engine and transmission, was very dependable and a whole lot of fun to ride. Aftermarket add-ons include a Honda Super Cub bench seat, raised a couple of inches - much more comfortable than the stock seat, a windshield, a white basket for the front and of course a cup holder. Sym scooters are built in Taiwan and known for quality and reliability. The Symba is similar to late model Honda Super Cubs, which Sym built under contract for Honda for a number of years. It has a 101cc, 6.7HP 4 stroke engine with a 4 speed manual transmission with a wet clutch (automatic clutch). It has both an electric and manual kick start and is advertised to get 100 MPG and go 59 MPH. It will not go 59MPH up some Tennessee hills, but will go faster downhill (so maybe it balances out).As Symba lovers know, Sym stopped importing Symba’s to the US in 2015. Sym has a US distributor that may or may not have Symba parts, word on the internet is parts are hard to get in the US (all the more reason to have a source of spare parts). Feel free to call the US distributor (Alliance Powersports), however if you can’t find parts in the US all is not lost. Sym still makes this model for sale in Taiwan and other countries. It’s called an EFI Wowow. All parts you need to repair the bike are available in Taiwan from Cam Purvis (Canadian citizen living in Taiwan used to working with Americans) for less than $400 plus shipping. Check out Cam’s website - http://www.scooterseals.com/sym-symba-parts.htmlThe front forks and perhaps other parts should also be available on Yahoo – Bid Taiwan, or other similar sites, however it appears you’ll need a friend that can read Mandarin (or whatever language they use), or perhaps a broker? Here’s the link the post that mentioned this site as a source for parts - http://symforum.com/index.php?topic=11600.0I’ve got two keys, owner’s manual and somewhere the stock seats, but so far have not found them. If I find them they will also be included. As mentioned above the front fairing is cracked but doesn’t appear to provide any real “protection” (they’re made of plastic). Hence if you’re good at super-gluing plastic, the crack appears to be such that it should glue back together. The front fender assembly is cracked beyond repair. The rear part of the fender is OK other than scrape marks where it now makes contact with the engine via the fact the forks were bent backwards. The required premium fuel was always treated with Star Brite “Star Tron” fuel enzyme treatment.I have no idea how to ship this, or what it would cost, so if you’re planning on having it shipped please make all arrangements and do so at your expense. I will be happy to meet your shipper at a designated time, box up the parts and make sure they get everything.Bike is also for sell locally so reserve the right to end auction anytime before it ends. Send me a message if you are local and want to see the bike in person. Thanks!
