Vehicle Detail

Up for auction for the first time in 32 years is my synchro camper, You've heard the saying " This car was driven by a little old teacher back and forth to school only twelve miles a day" well that's about it except for several camping trips to Canada, Florida and a road trip out west. Not many off road adventures. Since retired I now use it for camping and fishing locally. I love fresh and salt water fly fishing and often tie my flies right in the van [picture].Why am I selling it now? Because I live in expensive NJ and want to stay here! Besides, I had my time with her and now am ready for some new syncronaut like you to have some fun. Someone said there were only about 500 synchro GL campers sold in the USA between 1986 and 1991. Not sure, but I know they're not common. I've seen the Utube videos of what these can do off road with a bigger engine! Not for me! It's a great vehicle but it does have some minor problems. All fixable but not by me. The original paint now shows several rust spots around windows and needs attention. Theses are rust spots not rust throughs{see pictures}. A few years ago the viscous coupler started to make noise so I had the drive shaft disconnected. It's stored safely in my garage {see picture}. I've put off the needed repair...a sin I must continue to live with. Now driving only with rear wheels. Supposably an easy repair once you find the coupler. Also comes with full rear wheel locking differential activated by button on dashboard. In 2003 I was in a minor accident. Some young buck made a left turn into my rear left side panel while I was crossing an intersection. Only two blocks from home! A local professional body shop did a good repairing the dent. No structural or engine damage resulted from this event. My insurance company considered the cost of repair a total loss. Back in 2003 they valued the camper at just over $2K so I took their money, repaired the dent and found a new insurance company. That was before the syncronaut love affair developed and made this camper the meanest 4wd vehicle around! Also, the rear bumper was dented while I was shopping and then, of course , he or she forgot to stay around! Radio antenna was replaced but is not working as well as before. I haven't used the air conditioner in years so it probably needs servicing. Except for some road dings everything else is good! The original Wasserboxer 2.1 L engine is still running strong. Kitchen propane stove and refrigerator work well. Popup canvas, screening and top are good all round. Comes with original front privacy curtain, side and rear curtains and rear mosquito netting and electrical cord hookup. Also I will include many repair worksheet receipts and manuals as well as the original window sticker sheet listing all of the included options not mentioned so far[see pictures] and the bill of sale if you want that too! I am the one and only owner for the past 32 years. Everything that has anything to do with this camper I know and will share with the new owner. I'm not going anywhere. You can't get that from a dealer, second, third or what ever number past owner! Title is free and clear. I can't think of anything else except a new Oil and Filter change and Brand New Interstate Battery! Ready to drive home! Serious bidders only. $500 nonrefundable deposit required! Put a little more money and sweat into this syncro camper and you will have one of the most useful, versatile and rarest of all vehicles on or off the road today...and a place to call home anywhere, anytime! Any questions please ask. If you live close and want to see it, send me a message through eBay. If you have been one of my past three weeks 187 watchers or one of the 1890+viewersyou know that I have reduced my asking price $3K. I am ready and waiting for one serious offer. You could be camping in this van very soon! One very helpful watcher asked a very important question that I need to clarify. Car Fax has listed my camper as" totaled "by my insurance company at the time of my accident in 2003. True. But "totaled" meant that the cost of repair to the side of the van would amount to their blue book value for the van at that time. $2K. At no time did anyone else take ownership of my van. It did not go to salvage. It never had a rebuilt title. I have the original and only title issued by the state of New Jersey, free and clear with all leans fulfilled and satisfied. Also this camper was never part of a lemon law buyback or for that matter never involved in any flood or other water event! I remain the one and only owner. It is unfortunate that Car Fax does not do an adequate and thorough enough job in explaining this to interested buyers. I hope this puts to bed some of your possible concerns. Any other questions please ask.
