Vehicle Detail
2005 Chevy Colorado 4x4 Z71 Black 3.5L Crew Cab REPAIRS NEEDED!TRANSMISSION NEEDS REPAIR/REPLACEMENT (must tow at your own expense). TRANSMISSION PART # 89037480 (provided by my local GM parts department). (I performed a search on eBay for this part # and got back about 4 results, all priced at about $730, with free shipping, and 2 of them had about 135k miles, and 1 at 150k miles, and another at 190k miles. I have a mechanic here locally that will swap it out for $400. Yet, if you order the part of eBay, your mechanic might not guarantee it. I'm just showing that it's possible to get the transmission for under $1,000. A lot of people think it costs way more than it necessarily has to, but you'll have to do your own research.) GOOD, CLEAN TITLENO KNOWN WRECKS (certainly not in the nearly 10 years we have owned it)Second Owner (purchased in 2009)Mileage: 264,363(Buyers to run CarFax report at their own expense.) BRAND NEW BATTERY!! Alternator replaced just last year. Starter replaced just last year. Newer 55k-Mile All-Terrain Tires (replaced just a few months ago and alignment performed)Newer Tonneau Soft-Cover (nearly $300 when purchased brand new)Bed-linerTowing Package (for instance: will tow heaviest/largest FULL U-Haul has available to rent)Sport/Off-Road Wheel-Well Guards/PiecesBrakes have had extensive servicing in the past, but I don't know the present condition of them except that they work fine. AC/Heat work fine. Radio works well, and all speakers work well overall but passenger side front speaker sometimes sounds a little garbled. U-Joint was replaced recently. Very recent oil change. (I use only full synthetic. Truck burns about 1 quart for every 3,000 miles or so.) Radiator replaced about 1.5 years ago. Starter replaced just last year. To the best of my memory, BATTERY was replaced last year. Trailer lights and wiring have had extensive work/repairs in the past and SHOULD function properly. A/C has had work on it in the past and functions very well last time I checked (been cold last few months so haven't checked). Throttle Body has been serviced/cleaned as well as MF sensor. Shocks/Struts were replaced in recent years. Spark-Plugs replaced a few years ago. Canister Vent Solenoid (Fuel Tank) replaced a couple of years ago. Front-right (I believe, don't think it was the left) wheel bearing replaced a few years agoRepairs Needed: 2-3 Windows do not roll down properly, including driver sideOne cv-axle MAY need replacement (rides fine) (had the other front cv-axle replaced last year)Front-right blinker-light assembly broken from housing but light works when bulb is replacedCenter console is broken but in place and still opens and closes. CD player does not work. Power steering pump has issues requiring occasional additions of fluid but operates fine. Transfer case probably needs servicing (4x4 Hi causes vibration) (had it serviced in about 2010, I believe)Windshield-Wiper Fluid Motor doesn't work. Replaced wiper arms and full blades last year but one doesn't move and probably just needs tightening Damage/wear to upholstery and carpeting on floorsBroken driver's side seat adjustment leverDriver's-side latch sticks sometimesCheck Engine Light has been on steady for years...had it looked at once, was told that whatever repair was needed to make it go off (don't remember what that was) was not worth the expense and did not affect performance but would only give a false indicator and fail to alert operator if something wrong really did develop in the engine. I did NOT save all of the repair receipts for all the years we have owned this vehicle. All the ones that I have are in the truck. I spent a good bit of time digging in files trying to find everything that I could. We've had this vehicle for nearly 10 years, and I cannot remember every single repair I've ever had done and when I had it done and what exactly they did. Yet, I have made every effort to be forthright and completely transparent and honest. If I left something out, it's simply because I haven't thought of it. As I think of things, I will return here and add them (so what you are seeing now is the latest update). If you ask me and it jogs my memory, then I'll tell you whatever you want to know. I have no intention of holding anything back. I want SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY, and so I would rather you know EVERYTHING UP FRONT and know EXACTLY what you are getting. This truck might make a great investment for someone who has the time, desire, and ability to do the repairs themselves and is willing to invest some money in parts (many of which can be gotten at the local salvage yard really cheaply). I am willing to negotiate some, but I please do NOT waste my time if you are only coming to tell me what a pile of junk I have so that you can take off with my truck for next to nothing. You'll be wasting both of our time, and if this doesn't sell, I'll just go have the transmission replaced and keep on driving it until the wheels fall of or the engine blows up...which might be tens of thousands of miles longer!TITLE WILL NOT CHANGE HANDS UNTIL MONEY CLEARS. Thank you for your interest.
