Vehicle Detail
I bought this car and I have already paid for the title change, registration and license plates as shown in photo #21. But I will not be getting them because as it turns out the car is not a California Car and therefore does not have a smog device. It will cost $1000 to modify it. So instead I would rather just sell to someone in another state that can appreciate a good running Mercedes. I did get a temporary permit that expires at the end of the month and that is why I am selling it now. It has good tires and tight steering. All the lights work along with the Sunroof / Moon-roof. The body and paint are in good shape except for the drivers side rear door area as shown in photo #20. The stereo turns on but there is no sound probably because the electric antenna does not rise for the occasion. The car was purchased from a tow yard auction. All the instruments work except for the Odometer which was damaged from the tow. The odometer reads 108,197 and the car has been driven for two months since it was broken. So the car has less than 110,000 miles on it now. Also the tow yard did not have a key so they used a screwdriver to turn the ignition on. A new key was ordered from Mercedes Benz. It fits everything (doors, trunk and glove box) except the Ignition which now uses a screwdriver as a key. It works fine. The only thing you need to remember is with Mercedes you only get one shot at the starter for each key turn. You must turn the ignition all the way (off) counter clockwise. You can do that when you turn it off or you can do it before turning it on. If you do not turn it counter clockwise first you will not be able to engage the starter when you turn it clockwise. Also only stick the screwdriver in a 1/4 of an inch, if you stick it in farther you will not be able to turn the Ignition far enough to engage the starter. All the doors lock so you can safely park the vehicle almost anywhere. There is no title just a bill of sale which will also include the California DMV paperwork all the way back to the tow yard. Paypal accepted.
