1980 Mercedes-Benz 300SD Turbo Diesel W116 for sale with no reserve. One-family owned since new. Starts; runs and drives with a strong engine, plenty of oil pressure, smooth shifting and good-working brakes, wipers and lighting. A few items are not currently working such as power antenna, the right rear door won't open, left rear door only opens from the inside. All power windows do work except right, rear. A/C converted to R134a and blows cool. Rear axle boots are leaking. Sometimes the ignition buzzer doesn't shut off when the key is removed so we installed a battery-disconnect. We are told that the odometer recently failed though the speedometer works fine. Actual mileage is likely a bit higher than the 164,591 showing, probably in the 170's. The bottom line? This is a 38-year-old car so expect old paint, dings, chips, a couple of small rust spots visible in photos, (floors are great, very solid), etc. A good detailing will make a big difference. There are cracks in the dash top. Otherwise, it starts and drives well and should be fine for reliable, cheap transportation. Most parts are relatively inexpensive and the car is fairly simple to work on. Being diesel, no smog is required. Clear title in-hand. Call or text Donn 707-332-8331.
