Career move out of state, no room at new home for all the toys. Recently restored on a driver's budget. A real eye catcher, but won't likely take 1st place at the car show. Runs, drives, and stops great. Needs interior recovering and a new headliner. Estimated interior recovering cost $1500. Fuel system completely refurbished from tank forward, buts need a fuel tank or sealing of existing tank due to fuel gauge sending unit in gas tank inoperable and some sediment inside tank. New Kanter Bros. gas tank complete with new sending unit around $400. Heater control unit bypassed. Refurbished Kantor Bros. heat control unit around $125. I could easily replace both the fuel tank and heater control unit in an afternoon. Original "Thunderbolt" (flathead) "Straight Eight". This car features a two barrel carb. and was rated at 150 hp in 1953. High performance in its day. I'm the mechanic. All original. Recent valve job; no smoke; runs and performs great. All brake cylinders and lines new; master cylinder just received a kit. All the lights work, head lights could use aiming. Turn signal contacts need cleaning. Speedometer works, odometer does not; cable could use lubrication. Tires, shocks and exhaust new. Fuel pump professionally rebuilt, new carb kit, lines, and an electric fuel pump to prime carb. after car sits for extended periods. All new door, window, trunk, and hood rubber. All new window seals. Bumpers and trim professionally metallic powder coated. I had no idea how great these cars drove and rode until my maiden voyage. I'm reminded of the incredible quality of these cars every time I drive it. A very solid ride that needs a caring home. All the really hard work has been done on this car. Not much left to finish.
