The La Grange (Cook County) Illinois Police Department is offering the following vehicle for sale through eBay auction: 2011 Black Smart Car Fortwo 2DR Coupe with 47,145 miles THIS IS A VILLAGE-OWNED VEHICLE THAT WAS USED AS A FULLY-MARKED POLICE/PARKING ENFORCEMENT VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE MUST BE SOLD ACCORDING TO ILLINOIS LAW; IT MUST BE SOLD IN AN AUCTION-TYPE SETTING SUCH AS eBAY. THERE IS NO BUY-IT-NOW OPTION. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY TRADES FOR THIS VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD AS-IS AND WITH NO EXISTING WARRANTY; NEITHER EXPRESS NOR IMPLIED. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. NO PRICE ADJUSTMENTS WILL BE GIVEN. NO RETURNS WILL BE ACCEPTED. THE VEHICLE WILL BE SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER AFTER THE STARTING PRICE HAS BEEN SATISFIED. THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS VEHICLE. POSITIVES:1. The vehicle's body/paint are in good condition, police decals have been professionally removed, but slightly visible. Remaining glue will need to be "buffed" out.2. NADAGUIDES.COM list the vehicle as follows: Rough=$2,487, Average=$3,112, Clean=$3,637, Clean Retail=$5,3873. We have a CARFAX for the vehicle, available upon request, shows no outstanding issues.4. The vehicle is 2WD/RWD, a 2-door vehicle (coupe) with hatchback, automatic transmission, and uses gasoline.5. The vehicle has front cloth bucket seating, tear in D/S seat (see photo), but otherwise in good shape.6. The vehicle has two cup holders, a mirror in the passenger visor, and a 12V port in the front.7. The vehicle has no spare tire; fix a flat sealant is standard with this vehicle, located under front passenger floor.8. The vehicle has air conditioning, heat, AM/FM stereo, folding mirrors, and glove box with vehicle manual.9. The vehicle has manual window, locks, and mirrors.10. The vehicle has keyless entry with remote. The vehicle comes with two keys; one will need a new battery.11. The vehicle has no lights/warning signals illuminated on the dashboard (no issues).12. There are no known outstanding recalls on this vehicle.13. The vehicle appears to start, run, drive, and function well with no known mechanical problems. It is idling a little rough-will need a tune up.14. All lights, lamps, signals, wipers, accessories are in good working order EXCEPT for front side marker lights and one rear registration plate light. 15. The tires are in good condition, at least 75% life left; Kumho Solus #175/55R15.16. Regular routine maintenance had been completed the life of the vehicle either by village certified mechanic or certified mechanic shop-records to view upon request.17. The vehicle shows normal signs of wear-n-tear with no rust and no body damage.18. All holes for previously mounted police equipment have been professionally "plugged."19. There is extra storage in the rear of the vehicle (hatchback).20. The vehicle was involved in a VERY MINOR ($1,847.20) frontal crash on 04/24/13 and professionally repaired. We have photos/paperwork from crash available upon request.21. The vehicle was driven by a NON-SMOKER.22. The dashboard display shows mileage, trip, time, and outside temperature. NEGATIVES:1. Again, the vehicle shows normal wear-n-tear such as minor dings, dents, and scratches.2. There are a couple small holes in the interior roof from removed mounted police equipment.3. There are a couple small holes in the exterior roof from removed police equipment, but professionally "plugged."4. Again, vehicle was involved in a VERY MINOR crash-see above (but professionally repaired).5. The two front side marker lights are burned out along with one rear registration plate light.6. The driver's side cloth seat has a tear (see photo).7. The exterior police decals were professionally removed, but glue is slightly visible-will need to be "buffed" out.8. Again, the vehicle has no spare tire-did not come with one. There is fix-a-flat sealant (standard with this vehicle) under the front passenger floor.9. Although functioning just fine, the vehicle idles a little rough. Our mechanic advised the vehicle will need a tune up.10. As with all of our vehicles, we recommend an oil change, tune up, change fluids, check brakes, etc.11. The front passenger-side hood clip is broken and held on with a bungee cord. The cost of a new clip is approximately $14.00 from Amazon. MAINTENANCE/SERVICE:Regularly scheduled maintenance on this vehicle was either completed by our village certified mechanic OR a certified mechanic shop. We do have many/most of the completed service records that may be viewed upon your request. We have a CARFAX report on this vehicle as well upon request. See above for minor accident the vehicle had been involved in. There are no outstanding recalls on this vehicle that we are aware of.
