The La Grange (Cook County) Illinois Police Department is offering the following vehicle for sale through eBay auction: 2004 Ford E-250 Econoline Cargo Van with 115,245 miles THIS IS A VILLAGE-OWNED VEHICLE THAT WAS USED AS A DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE VAN. THE VEHICLE MUST BE SOLD ACCORDING TO ILLINOIS LAW; IT MUST BE SOLD IN AN AUCTION-TYPE SETTING SUCH AS eBAY. THERE IS NO BUY-IT-NOW OPTION. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY TRADES FOR THIS VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD AS-IS AND WITH NO EXISTING WARRANTY; NEITHER EXPRESS NOR IMPLIED. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. NO PRICE ADJUSTMENTS WILL BE GIVEN. NO RETURNS WILL BE ACCEPTED. The vehicle is a 2004 Ford E-250 Econoline cargo van with 115,245 original miles2. The vehicle is automatic transmission, uses gasoline, and is rear wheel drive3. The vehicle has Firestone tires, size 245/75 R 164. This is a municipal-used vehicle and is cigarette-smoke free5. The vehicle has a tow/hitch package6. The vehicle has Air Conditioning, however, fan does not work7. The vehicle has an AM/FM stereo8. The vehicle has two 12V ports in the front dashboard9. The vehicle has a large center console locking storage box (metal)10. The vehicle has shelving/cabinets in the cargo area-see photographs11. All lights, lamps, signals, wipers, and horn are in working condition, except dome light(s)12. The vehicle appears to start, runs, and drive well with no known mechanical issues other than listed below13. The vehicle would make a great work van for a tradesman NEGATIVES:1. The vehicle will need a new battery. It currently needs to be jumped to start, starter is fine2. As with all of our vehicles, we recommend a tune up, oil change and fluid flush3. The vehicle will need to be cleaned inside4. The driver's side (D/S) running board is cracked5. There is rust on the inside bottom of the doors6. The driver's seat is torn7. The D/S front 1/4 has crash damage and rust8. The P/S front 1/4 has rust (all the way through)9. The P/S rear wheel well has rust all the way through10. The P/S rear 1/4 has rust all the way through11. There is no working blower fan for the A/C or heat12. The dome light does not work13. The P/S outside mirror is cracked, but functioning14. The vehicle has manual door locks, windows, seats15. There is a rattling (probably a heat shield) on the undercarriage16. There appears to be a very minor gasoline leak (small amount found on ground) MAINTENANCE/SERVICE: Regularly scheduled maintenance on this vehicle was either completed by our village certified mechanic OR a certified mechanic shop. We have a CARFAX report on this vehicle upon request, which shows no issues. There are no outstanding recalls on this vehicle that we are aware of.
