Vehicle Detail
After much thought and consideration, I have decided to sell my 1975 Beetle Convertible that I bought this past summer having high hopes. THE GOOD: The car has a recent new top and rebuilt carb. The engine runs and the car is drivable, however it does have a lot of rust issues that were not disclosed to me by the seller, which is my fault for not doing a more thorough inspection. It has a clean title and current WV registration in my name and I do have the title in hand. THE BAD: I found the depth of the rust after starting to tear it down. The body does flex, but the doors still line up with no sagging. It needs both heater channels/frame rails repaired/replaced, the luggage pan under the rear seat needs to be repaired/replaced, and the right front strut tower needs to be repaired/replaced. The floor pans were replaced by the previous owner, but were not done correctly and may need to be replaced as well. I am not a body guy and I am definitely not a welder. The parts are well under $1000 for everything you might need, but the money is in the hours it will take to put it all together. This is NOT a basic mechanic special as there is a lot of cutting and welding that will need to be done. I have over $4500 in this car already and I am trying to make up some of my loss. LOCAL PICKUP ONLY. I will not work with a shipping company as I have been burned in the past, unless the seller/shipper can produce an insurance policy protecting the pickup and delivery. The car can be picked up at my home in Kearneysville, WV. It does come with a tow bar, but I recommend trailering it due to the body flex. I can send more pictures to any potential interested buyer. Please, SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY! I have had several extremely low offers that I had to flat out refuse as I am fairly certain that I could make more if I were to part it out, but selling it would be a whole lot easier. Thanks for looking!!
