The La Grange (Cook County) Illinois Police Department is offering the following vehicle for sale through eBay auction: 2003 Black Cadillac CTS 3.2L V6 with 142,881 miles THIS IS A SEIZED/FORFEITED VEHICLE AND HAS UNDERGONE CIVIL COURT PROCEEDINGS. THE VEHICLE WAS ULTIMATELY AWARDED TO THE LA GRANGE POLICE DEPARTMENT AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE COURT CASE. WE OWN THE VEHICLE AND HAVE CLEAR TITLE TO IT. THE VEHICLE MUST BE SOLD ACCORDING TO ILLINOIS LAW; IT MUST BE SOLD IN AN AUCTION-TYPE SETTING SUCH AS eBAY. THERE IS NO BUY-IT-NOW OPTION. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY TRADES FOR THIS VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD AS-IS AND WITH NO EXISTING WARRANTY; NEITHER EXPRESS NOR IMPLIED. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. NO PRICE ADJUSTMENTS WILL BE GIVEN. NO RETURNS WILL BE ACCEPTED. THE VEHICLE WILL BE SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER AFTER THE STARTING PRICE HAS BEEN SATISFIED. THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS VEHICLE. POSITIVES:1. The vehicle's body/paint are in relatively good condition. There are beginning signs of small rust spots in a couple places (see photos). Otherwise, the vehicle shows normal wear n tear such as minor scratches, dings, dents, imperfections2. NADAGUIDES.COM list the vehicle as follows: Rough=$1,425, Average=$2,175, Clean=$2,825, Clean Retail=$4,6003. We have a CARFAX for the vehicle, available upon request, no issues other than 1 open recall (can be taken to any dealer for free repair)4. The vehicle is 2WD/RWD, a 4-door vehicle, automatic transmission, and uses gasoline5. The vehicle is equipped with lighted mirrors in the visors, adjust. head rests, and tilt steering wheel (all manual)6. The vehicle has power doors, windows, locks, mirrors, and driver's seat adjustments (programmable seat adjustments)7. The vehicle has a new full-sized spare tire/jack, alloy/steel wheels8. The vehicle has A/C in good working order, heat, AM/FM stereo with 6 CD Player/Changer with controls on steering wheel, folding mirrors9. The vehicle has cruise control with controls on steering wheel, traction and sport mode10. The car has keyless entry w/remote as well as a trunk release w/remote11. The vehicle has one key fob (remote) 12. The car has a 12V port in the front driver compartment and one for the rear passenger area13. The vehicle has leather front bucket seating and leather rear bench seating (small tear in rear seat). Seats are in fair to good condition-no tears otherwise14. All lights, lamps, signals, wipers, accessories are in good working order EXCEPT: the wipers have a clean windshield sensor and kept going off. We pulled the fuse out to disable the wipers. The fuse is in the front cupholder15. The vehicle appears to drive/run well with no known mechanical problems, however, it will need brakes and an oil change16. It appears from the CARFAX report that regular routine maintenance had been completed the life of the vehicle17. There is an active recall on the vehicle-service at any dealership18. Tires are Yokohama YK520 #P205/60R16 and appear to have at least 40-50% life left19. The vehicle shows normal wear-n-tear such as minor dings, dents, and scratches, etc. throughout vehicle, some small rust spots forming20. The vehicle has a power sun roof that appears to be in working order. The sunroof may leak, as there are signs of a leak from the inside headliner. However, during the last major storm, we did not find water.21. There is a large trunk for storage with full-sized new spare tire and jack.22. There are several cup holders throughout the vehicle23. The vehicle is equipped with On-Star capability24. The vehicle has lower mileage for it's age and is relatively clean and in good condition25. There are MANY power options/accessories in the vehicle, all of which we believe are in good working order NEGATIVES:1. Again, the vehicle shows normal wear-n-tear such as minor dings, dents, and scratches, some small rust spots forming2. There is a small tear in the rear passenger-side leather seat3. The tires have approx. 40-50% tread left4. The vehicle is due for an oil change5. The vehicle will need brakes ASAP6. We always recommend a flush of all fluids and a tune up due to the fact that we do not know a great deal about the vehicle or it's maintenance history7. The vehicle will need a professional cleaning/detailing8. The headlight lens covers for both headlights have a good deal of oxidation-will need to be cleaned9. Couple of small rust spots forming to driver's side front area10. Minor scratches, dings, and dent in the passenger-side rear door11. The rear bumper has paint chipping (minor)12. Couple minor rust spots forming to driver's side rear 1/413. Again, wipers disconnected (fuse pulled) - see above14. Again, the sunroof may leak-see above. MAINTENANCE/SERVICE:Due to this vehicle being a seized/forfeited vehicle, we do not know a great deal about it's history or maintenance history. We have a CARFAX report on this vehicle that may be viewed upon request. Lastly, the vehicle has an open recall that may be taken to any dealership free of charge.
