The La Grange (Cook County) Illinois Police Department is offering the following vehicle for sale through eBay auction: 2006 Red Ford Explorer XLS Sport Utility 4-Door 4.0L (1/2 Ton V6) 4WD with 98,114 miles THIS IS A VILLAGE-OWNED VEHICLE THAT WAS USED AS A FIRE DEPARTMENT EMERGENCY RESPONSE SUV. THE VEHICLE MUST BE SOLD ACCORDING TO ILLINOIS LAW; IT MUST BE SOLD IN AN AUCTION-TYPE SETTING SUCH AS eBAY. THERE IS NO BUY-IT-NOW OPTION. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY TRADES FOR THIS VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD AS-IS AND WITH NO EXISTING WARRANTY; NEITHER EXPRESS NOR IMPLIED. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. NO PRICE ADJUSTMENTS WILL BE GIVEN. NO RETURNS WILL BE ACCEPTED. The vehicle is just now showing signs of beginning rust spots-see photos. Normal wear n tear about the vehicle, minor scratches, dings, dents, imperfections2. NADAGUIDES.COM list the vehicle as follows: Rough=$3,375, Average=$4,200, Clean=$4,875, Clean Retail=$7,1503. We have a CARFAX for the vehicle, available upon request, no issues listed4. The vehicle is 4WD, a 4-door vehicle, automatic transmission, and uses gasoline5. The vehicle is equipped with mirrors in the visors, adjust. head rests, and tilt steering wheel (all manual)6. The vehicle has power doors, windows, locks, mirrors7. The vehicle has a new full-sized locking spare tire/jack, alloy/steel wheels, a roof rack, and tow package with wiring8. The vehicle has A/C in good working order, heat, AM/FM stereo with CD Player, folding mirrors, and a lighted glove box.9. The vehicle has cruise control with controls on steering wheel, overdrive, and traction control10. The car has keyless entry w/remote as well as a remote start fob (2)11. The vehicle has two key fobs (remote) and the car manual is in the glove box12. The car has a 12V port in the front seating area13. Mileage=98,114 original miles14. All lights, lamps, signals, wipers, accessories are in good working order 15. The vehicle appears to drive/run well with no known mechanical problems, however will need brakes16. Regular routine maintenance had been completed the life of the vehicle by either village mechanic or certified mechanic17. There are no open recalls on this vehicle (known to us)18. Tires are #P235/70R16 and appear to have at least 50% life left and alloy wheels (starting signs of surface rust)19. The vehicle shows normal wear-n-tear such as minor dings, dents, and scratches, etc. throughout vehicle, little rust20. Again, the vehicle is 4WD, automatic, and uses gasoline21. There are two storage compartments in the vehicle's rear cargo area22. The seats and interior of the vehicle are in good to very good condition NEGATIVES:1. Again, the vehicle shows normal signs of wear-n-tear such as minor dings, dents, scratches, little rust starting2. Emergency lights were removed from the rear lift gate, so there are some holes and a couple "cuts" out of the inside of the plastic door3. It appears there is a minor leak in the rear lift gate where the lights were removed4. There are a couple holes in the driver-side front 1/4 and the passenger-side front 1/4 where emergency lights were removed5. The chrome accent grill (top) on the front of the vehicle is loose6. The bottom accent grill is missing after removing emergency lights7. The front driver-side part of the bumper is a little loose8. The brakes MUST be done immediately9. There are beginning signs of surface rust to the metal wheel(s)10. We always recommend a tune up, oil change, flush fluids, check the battery, check the brakes, and professionally detail the inside/outside (whether needed or not)11. The vehicle will need a new battery MAINTENANCE/SERVICE:Regularly scheduled maintenance on this vehicle was either completed by our village certified mechanic OR a certified mechanic shop/dealership. We do not have the completed service records. We do have a CARFAX report on this vehicle upon request. There are no outstanding recalls on this vehicle that we are aware of.
