Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 2000 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 in the color midnight blue metallic with two-tone black/tan interior. The car is also a 6 speed manual with the Hurst shifter option. The other option is the lumbar seats, meaning the only options not ordered on this car are the 6-CD changer and the traction control (not a good option anyway – I had a Z28 with it). I have decided to sell after being the 2nd owner of the car for over 14 years. I just do not drive it enough and it deserves to have a new owner who will do just that. I got it from Louisiana in 2003 with about 23,500 miles on it. So I have driven it only about 4,000 miles in 14 years! Overall this car is in excellent condition and has been maintained perfectly. It runs like it did from day 1! All fluids have been changed as required (coolant, motor oil, differential gear oil), as well as the air filter and spark plugs (new iridium plugs about 500 miles ago). It has never been stored outdoors or driven in bad weather. The car has never been raced, abused, modified, done burnouts or anything like that! The only thing ever done was change the original ugly exhaust to a Corsa catback, which was the most expensive and is now no longer available new to my knowledge. I do still have the original exhaust if the new buyer wants it. The only negatives I have about this car are the following: - Various paint scratches due to 14 years of storage (pictured) in the garage. I would think they would be a relatively cheap and easy repair if someone wanted. The worst is the chip on the bottom corner of the driver door and a gouge underneath the inside of the same door. Those may require a small amount of body filler to repair since some material is missing. - There is what looks like a factory defect (VERY slight bend/bulge) in the driver’s side rear quarter. I did not notice this for years and it is hard to capture with a picture. I figured it is factory since the car has not been in an accident to my knowledge and I don’t know how it could occur without paint loss if something actually hit there. No one would probably notice if I didn’t mention it but I disclose it out of full honesty. - The typical Pontiac factory build quality of these cars. There are the slight door cracks that every one of these cars has. The original owner put some glue there to stop progress and it has worked quite well. They are very small compared to most cars I have seen. I have seen cars with less than 1K miles that sit in a garage and have much bigger cracks! Also, the car makes its typical shakes and rattles that they did from brand new. The most prominent is the T-Top creaking from when they slightly rub against the sides of the T-Top frame. I’m not sure why I mention this stuff since it is a factory thing most all these cars have and does not reflect this car’s condition or care. Anyways, this car does not have the typical dash board cracking! The problem with the paint on the sail panel bubbling will not happen either. It was fixed under original warranty by the original owner. - Brake pads will need replacement in probably the next few thousand miles. I never got around to it since it is not an emergency. I imagine they are the original pads, but never checked. You can see by my explanation this is the car you want to buy for a driver. It has low miles, but not so low it has to be relegated to museum status. It has also not been abused or beaten like so many have. Buy this car, drive it a lot and enjoy it for this cheap price! My loss over all these years is the next buyers gain. Do not be scared by the negatives. I am just thorough since I do not want people to be disappointed. Most sellers would probably not even mention anything. To finish, I’m probably forgetting something so please ask questions before bidding. Please do not waste my time by buying and then not paying. Note: This car is sold as-is, where-is and no warranty is implied. It is a 17 year old car and I have described it and disclosed everything to the best of my ability.
