Considered by many to be one of the best designed R models, this 2004 R1150RT is in excellent condition and has been dealer serviced since new. Elegant smooth styling, combined with modern telelever front forks, paralever single side rear swing arm, gas shocks, two spark plugs per head, fuel injection, coupled with the classic horizontal boxer motor, with dry clutch and shaft drive. The color is Sienna Red metallic. This is a world renowned touring bike capable of going anywhere, and lasting a lifetime. Ride it 100,00 miles, rebuild, repeat. Its surprisingly lightweight, barely 600lbs fueled, nimble, very smooth and quick, excellent suspension, with linked power ABS brakes (about the best in the motorcycle industry). Engine is a simple reliable air and oil cooled four valve per cylinder opposed twin, oil cooler hidden under headlight, these motors run cool and quiet, with a six speed overdrive, only 3k rpm at 60, 4k rpm at 80mph. Very comfortable upright seating position, hundreds of miles just disappear. Note; its a taller bike designed for cornering clearance in the twisties. You sit up high, with a three position seat height, 31, 32, or 33 inches, so not for shorter legs. Innovative electric windshield moves up and down about six inches and changes angles for whatever protection you desire. Dual temperature heated grips. Digital clock, fuel, temp, and gear indicator (no guessing). Driving lights, fog lights, very bright headlight, battery tender connection, three power ports, radio prep kit. Lightweight removable luggage comes off in minutes, just carry into your hotel. One key for everything, same as the ignition. Both original keys included. Original factory tool kit, and 700 page Clymer manual. This bike is designed for the DIY backyard mechanic for normal maintenance and repair. Dealer serviced head to toe, valves adjusted, new battery, air filter, fuel filter, all fluids, 38 point extensive checklist, and certified by BMW European Motorcycles of Pittsburgh at 29k. Records are in dealership computers, sorry no hard copies.
