1984 Renault 5 Turbo2 This R5 Turbo 2 000923 is an homage to the prototype #598 car of Guy Fréquelin and Jean-Marc Andrié as driven in the 1979 Giro d’Italia with the traditional Calberson graphics but road equipment still in place. Shows 108k kilometers on the odometer - sitting since the early 2000s. Drained and replaced the fuel and filter and fired right up - runs and drives down the road. Good oil pressure, cooling system and engine fans work as they should, develops boost and engine sounds good with no unusual leaks or smells. Unfortunately develops warm misfire and appears to need the K-Jetronic / CIS system to be overhauled. I can email a photo of it running weekend of 09/17 - sales@SODO-Moto.com. Issues: CIS injection problems - lean-run rust in the rear hatch and near the headlightstires heavily weather checkedseats are worn and carpet faded general recommissioning required - motor mounts / axle boots / fluids Note: original VIN stamping under the passenger seat has some rust - Japan authorities assigned ID -099307. I received export papers included the original VIN as well as a Japan supplemental ID. Clean Washington state title identifying this as 1989 as this is when it was imported into Japan.
