HistoryI am the third owner of this bike and I have not ridden this bike even around my property. From what I understand the first owners were a father and son and they bought two of these to trail ride back in 2001. I don’t know how much these were ridden but not much and then these bikes were given to the second owner for a debt they owed him. I don’t remember if the second owner rode the bikes after he took possession but did put the bikes in storage and stated that he put stable in the fuel and also put a good oil in the transmission. He said that he was going to the bikes out of storage and do some riding but then needed some money and decided to sell the bikes. I bought this bike of the two and was going to make into an aluminum framed CR500 but after cleaning it up I cannot destroy such a clean unmolested bike. This bike looks like it has few hours and maybe 30 hours?DetailsThe original owner changed the original front fender and rear fender to black and the current fenders that are on the bike are new fenders from UFO and the original red from 2001. The black fenders will be included with the bike.The original side panels were cut down supposedly to look more like a 2001 CR250 side panel and the side panels have been replaced with new side panels of the UFO brand. The original cut down side panels will be included with the bike.The air box does have a hole in the side as it looked like it fell over onto something and made a hole. I did purchase another air box off of Ebay and that will be included with the bike. The other air box is not new but in decent shape as if this bike is to be a personal museum piece then might need to find a better condition air box (and spend a lot of money) but if the bike is to be ridden then this air box will work. The bike does come with an original MCO from Honda.I believe that the front tire could be the stock front tire as it is the Dunlop K490 as these were the stock front tires put on Hondas from that era. I believe that a Dunlop K695 came on the rear and the current tire is a Dunlop D752 (which is not made by Dunlop any longer). The bike would need some new tires as assume that these have been on the bike a long time.The handlebars and grips appear to be stock as the steel grey painted bars and the factory grips also of that era.I have removed the desert case plate and took pictures of the lower frame rails and you can see that the frame has no damages and the paint is still on the frame. The radiators look great and see the pictures and also why I believe low hours on this bike.I have not removed any parts or turned bolts on this bike other than the fenders, side panels, and the desert case plate to get pics of the frame rails. This is a 16 year old bike and is not perfect like it just rolled off the showroom floor. This bike has been ridden and for being a CR500 that have not been sold by Honda since 2001 this bike is in awesome condition!
