Vehicle Detail
1980 Jeep CJ-7. This Jeep is ready to go; nothing needs to be done. I've been driving it regularly since I bought it and fixed it up 6 years ago, but I've put less than 3000 miles on it in that time. It has had a tremendous amount of work that has been done, plus some additional parts, just a little of which I'll list here (these are all items that have been completed since I have owned it, some more recent than others): - New carburetor - BF Goodrich tires have less than 3000 miles on them (all 5) - Bestop soft top is 4 years old (soft doors and windows are older, but in great shape) - Bestop bikini top - Bestop seat covers (front & rear) - New heavy-duty Rancho shocks and leaf springs - Tube bumpers front and rear - All new brakes - Rebuilt front differential - New front driveshaft - U joints - KC Daylighters - Screen guards on headlights and taillights - Lots of stainless steel parts - CD player - Padded center console - New steering wheel Plenty of other things have been done, too much to list. Speedometer, tachometer, fuel, voltage, and temp gauges all work, as well as light up. 4WD, heater, horn, windshield wipers, lights, turn signals, etc. all work. As I said, this Jeep is ready to go! Can be your daily driver if you don't mind no A/C and getting a little wet when it rains (putting on the full soft top is somewhat of a project; I put it on the fall and take it back off in the spring.) The great thing about this Jeep is the condition. It is nice, but not so nice that you have any concerns about the interior getting wet. And the paint looks good, but not so good that you'll be concerned about a tree branch scratching it. There is no rust that has taken hold, there may be a little surface rust here or there, but nothing that needs attention unless you're wanting to make this a show car. The tread plate body cladding is not hiding any additional rust. The brown that you can see under the larger chips is the original brown paint of the Jeep I have done no significant off roading or mudding in this Jeep. In fact, I have only off-roaded 1 time. That was 3 years ago at the Southwest MO Off Road Ranch near Seymour, MO. Probably less than 10 miles that day, all on class 1 and 2 trails. The only other times I've left the pavement is on the gravel roads of Newton County, Arkansas during several trips to the Buffalo River. It makes the 90 minute trip down highway 65 and highway 7 with ease. The 258 cubic inch straight 6 runs great. Starts with ease. They say this motor is bulletproof, and I have no reason to believe otherwise. This Jeep has always been garaged since I've had it.
