Vehicle Detail
The price may look high compared to other Turbo Rs, but this Bentley is worth it This is an amazing car with an interesting story. It is a time capsule with 6,000 original miles - One of the lowest mileage Turbo Rs on the Planet! 1995 was the first year of the “New” Turbo R, which incorporated Zytek fuel injection, EMC and other enhancements. Power increased to 365 horsepower. By combining the improved 6.75 L turbo V8 with the 4L80-E 4-speed transmission, the lackluster performance of the earlier 3 speed 308 HP models was dramatically improved. Top speed increased from 135 MPH to 151 MPH, and 1/4-mile times improved by 0.7 seconds. Bentley was finally providing ultimate luxury and performance. 543 of these cars were produced. This car is now in excellent condition. It drives and appears virtually new. Much money and time has gone into the car since it was removed from storage. The asking price is a fraction of what I have actually spent getting it right. The lamb's wool floor mats and trunk carpet replacements cost $1,200. The new alarm FOB/ECU (immobilizer) was $2,038, valve cover gasket replacement was $1,805, hydraulic system inspection and correct mineral oil flush cost $632, new spark leads/wires and plugs were $1,800. Add to these a new battery, new tires, new seat computers, all fluids changed including transmission flush, three professional inspections of every belt and hose, etc. - everything identified was repaired or replaced. This car includes the original tool kit pictured, a complete bulb replacement kit, jack kit, owner & maintenance books - even the original integrated cell phone still works. You'll find cheaper Turbo “R”s, but they are mainly in #4 or #5 condition. They are worth the $12K to $25K you initially pay, but buying a cheap one that has not been maintained can become expensive. This is a genuine #2 car with approximately 6,000 original miles. It could easily be brought up to #1 condition. The 2017 Collector Car Price Guide valuation (see photos) for a 1995 Bentley Turbo R in #2 condition is $70,500 - and that is before you factor in the extraordinarily low mileage. It was purchased by the original owner (yes, that person was a little old lady) for $193,903.24 on February 5, 1996. According to the attorney I bought the vehicle from, the car sat for several years in storage. He described four vehicles in the garage where it was stored – all of similar age and mileage: a BMW, Jaguar, Mercedes and the Bentley. Each car was a similar red with saddle or parchment interior. One car was given to her gardener, one to each of her two children and I purchased the Bentley (the title was signed over by the original owner).Included with my maintenance records is a photo of this car with the red Jaguar next to it sitting in her garage with flat tires, covered in dust. The car now appears and drives as new. Car is sold, "as is", so I both recommend and welcome a thorough inspection prior to sale.
