1957 Matchless G80CS Motorcycle Engine Number 57/G802736CS Frame Number C7427 Original Milage -unknown This is a very nice non running project, 1957 Matchless G80CS 500cc competition scrambler motorcycle with correct numbers for the competition frame and engine both match in the way that Matchless motorcycles stamped their machines numerically, the gearbox has no number that I could find, This project comes with everything seen in the pictures below, this beautiful and rare Matchless G80CS that is an unfinished project or a running bike in need of repair, you can see from the pictures below, it is not 100% and missing some items to finish it, the motor looks to have been rebuilt to some degree as seen, the motor turns over with compression and valves, piston and and top end look to have been gone through, the cylinder head is a very cool and rare duel plug factory competition head. I can not see the lower end so I do not know condition but when turned over by hand the engine seems tight and good, the gear box is seized up and more than likely the reason it stopped running, one fin on the barrel is broken, items missing are- clutch basket, headlamp, chains, one foot peg, speedo, carb, rear fender brace and other brackets and small parts not listed, you get everything in the pictures nothing more. Both wheels look good, both have 19 inch WM2 Dunlop rims, nice complete competition magneto, new seat, tank is not original but Wassell aftermarket scrambles tank, seat and tank are loose along with the tool box, fenders and oil tank, just placed on the bike for the photos. These competition Matchless G80CS models are getting very scarce only a couple of hundred were built each year and nearly all went to Cooper Motors on the west coast of the USA and most were hammered and modified, it rare to find such a nice straight matching engine and frame like this. Their is no title and this motorcycle is being sold on a bill of sale only, so sorry no international shipping. This bike came from a large collection of an old guy who has now gone into home care, I do not know any history on this motorcycle or how long it has sat and offer no guarantees as to it running condition, it is being sold as a nice near complete restoration core project, and being sold with no reserve.
